Is Metallica one of the best bands ever?
 

So Metallica is coming to Lima for a concert in january. Today it started the ticket sales, and they hit the record: 12000 tickets sold the first day, exceeding the record made by Soda Stereo, the best (argentine) rock band in spanish language.

I'm really surprised Metallica produces those expectations. I thought about the Stones, Madonna, U2, MJ if he still were alive. Maybe it's because I'm not into metal, but I didn't know that a lot of people is, even in Peru.

Selloutica has been around for decades now, and they've a huge catalog of material. One cannot deny the selling power and the popularity, least of all the energy of the live stuff. I however, have never liked them, nor do I forsee liking them.

There is not a single somg by Metallica I ever heard that I liked. My 1990's boyfriend played them often and I just had to suck it up.

I've never cared for their music, and the whole Napster controversy further soured my opinion of them. The whole crusade they went on, mostly the way Lars Ulrich acted like a complete dick, was just over the top. I'll never support anything of theirs for this reason alone.
