OMG...Dr. Christian Troy *swooooooooooooooooooooon*
I never miss him on Nip/Tuck. He's sexy as hell  |
Hahaha. I love Julian McMahon. I don't think Stevie's Christian is that Christian though. Christian is just another of of those Stevie names like Sara or Juliet, Cecilia, Alice, etc. If I remember correctly it is the only male name she's referenced in a song.

And here I thought she was saying "crispy". Wow. Learn something new everyday.

And to answer your topic title question, I'm Jewish. IDK why such a topic is in the Stevie Nicks section though. |
Hands off...he's mine! I knew of him way before Nip/Tuck and Charmed when he was in Aussie soap 'Home and Away' and married to Dannii Minogue!

Not sure how relevant this is to what I'm saying, but don't forget Stevie and Lindsey first met at a Christian youth group meeting - "love at first sight????" By the way, I'm not so sure Stevie meant it in a kind way - - - seems to me there's some sarcasm involved here, in between her lines. |

Oh crispy what about your sad, wild dreams |

I read Ceremony of the Innocent a while ago which Stevie was quoted as saying was her favorite book (in Rolling Stone '81). One of the main characters in that book was named Christian so perhaps it was something like Rhiannon. She read the name in a book and loved it so she wrote a song with the same name. Either way, Christian is one of my favorite demos. |

But still whenever I hear that demo, I think of Dr.Troy. LOL!!!! God he's hot! LOL! |

Or it might be Thomas Christian, the friend who sent Mick to Sound City in Van Nuys in 1974 to check out the facilities. A real moment of fate there. |
oh my GOD it's called Christian Visions

I leave the ledge for a few days and a thread about the celebrity love of my life comes up. Good work, ladies.
Moving on, I've always taken Christian to be about Lindsey. "On your terms, we're no longer friends" is Stevie telling us once again how much she resents Ayatollah Lindsey's authority; as far as I can remember, he's the only man she's ever spoken as the dictator in her relationships. The lines "harder hard luck stories have been told down through the years" and "what about your sad, wild dreams" remind me so much of Lindsey's version of "Try for the Sun." It's that idea that the two of them were striving for something beautiful and impossible together, but it's from Stevie's perspective this time. Once she gets to "it was only love, wasn't it?", my heart's broken. I don't think either of them would ever consider trading their success for their love if they could go back now, but everyone loves a "what if." |
