Wembley - standing at front?

Hi - i've read about a LOT of gigs on this tour where people have just gone and stood at the front, rather than in their seat.
How easy is it to do? Does it not get in other people's way?
I'm desperate to get a bit closer to the action, but don't want to risk the wrath of security or spoil others enjoyment / view.
How has it been for you guys getting to the front?

Damn these seated gigs !

Pretty much everyone stood when they toured here the last time. ONly one incident at Earls Court where a couple right in front of Stevie refused to stand and kicked off if anyone ventured in front of them. They even went to complain but were told the band wanted people to stand. We were front row so took our spots pretty much as soon as we got there

You beat me to it. I was wondering the very same thing. I have third row seats at Sheffield but am considering, if possible, just standing stage front before the show starts. Is this the done thing?

It depends on whether the venue say you can stand (which I'm sure they will). However I know I would be pissed off to find people standing in front of my front row seat before I have a chance to get up there!

I totally agree with that and really have reservations about doing it. Was just wondering what is the norm. I wouldn't want to tread on anyone's toes -literally.

Last time I saw them people along the front row were stood there pretty much as soon as they arrived. It did fill up pretty quickly though. Just play it by ear. It's actually better in a way not to be stood right at the edge of the stage as you spend most of your time looking up heir noses!!

Do you know if they have a big barricade set back from the stage? That would suck in the most exquisite way!

I don't know about this time. They certainly didn't last time on the UK dates. You were right at their feet... could almost reach out and touch!!

When I saw The Eagles though there was a big gap between the seats and the stage... with miserable looking security people standing in between

were they jerks too? when i saw the eagles there were security right in front too, & they all looked pissed off & mean~ & i know they have had to deal w/ crap sometimes, but that is their job~ our crowd was 100% respectful & the security was atrocious to the fans~ one huge security guy kept moving & standing directly in front of this lady who had paid for front row & she was doing nothing bad at all & this guy just had a hard on for blocking her view~ she even started crying quietly at one point & that just made the guy block her view even worse~ i was toally appalled at how security acted~

you guys have a wonderful time!!!:wavey:~

I saw them live this year and in 2001. Loved them both times. My only complaint is people not standing in the audience

I went to a show at Earl's Court and they did at the side. The front row seats towards the center of the floor were fine, but I had front row way off to the side and there was a big black barricade right in front of me, blocking my view. I was really upset, because my ticket gave no indication that the view was obstructed.
