Big Love - Stevie Version

Somebody posted some new remixes of Mac songs the other day. One is a version of Big Love that clearly has Stevie singing a few lines from it. Does anyone know where these recordings came from? Or if there is a whole version of Big Love with Stevie singing it? That would blow my mind. Thanks in advance.

They may be new remixes to you, but I think the mixes you are referring to are from the Tango era. 12" discs were released with extended dance remixes of Big Love, Seven Wonders, Little Lies and Everywhere. (I have them all, but I'm too lazy to see who remixed them.) I don't believe there was ever a version of the song with Stevie singing lead -- it's very much a Buckingham song!

The Big Love remix is very interesting for the inclusion of Stevie's vocal interjections. It's up to speculation as to whether these vocals were recorded exlusively for the extended remixes -- most likely Stevie's vocal lines were pulled from the studio outtakes. I suspect band had no involvement with the extended versions. I recall Stevie singing solo a repetative "house upon the hill."

I love when Lindsey appeared on the Letterman show, doing his customary acoustic version of the song. Stevie sang the chorus lines with him and it was great. I wish she would do this in concert -- but she'd have to give up a bathroom break.

Man, I'd love to hear the remix! ITA she should stay out there for BL. It was so cool the way they did it on Letterman and for the HOF induction.

Did they do this on The Dance tour?

There was also a 12" remix disc for "Family Man". It had some extra Stevie vocals on it as well.

The extended remixes in my opinion are really good. Stevie sings more lines on Little Lies too than what she does on the studio cut.

Someone wanna post these remixes? I have some Tango remixes but I don't think we're talking about the same stuff...

Here's the link to the youtube video in question:

Stevie's real extra part comes in at the end. "Tell me lies, woah!" Always thought it would be cool if they could somehow sing it that way in a live setting. "Sweet lies..."

Yeah that was the "Jellybean" remix of Little Lies if I recall. They released it on a CD single back in '87 along with the regular version and the radio edit.

In 1995, on the CD single of "I Do" (taken from Time), they included a couple of dance mix versions of "Little Lies" (same ones that were released in '87/'88 as a 12" single)

I do and Little Lies on one single? Now there's something you can kill me with. Blerghhh!
