The Band Toto- The Thread

Don't know about you all, but I adore this band. Quite possible my second favorite band ever. Their music is hard charging and the musicianship is stellar to almost none. I only have two albums, but want all of them. Currently I have "4" and "Isolation"

Any other Toto fans out there?

LOVE Toto! Africa is my favourite soft rock ballad ever! Stop Loving You is also fantastic.

The only Toto I'm familiar with has 4 legs! lol

Seriously though... the only song I know that Toto sang is Africa

Rosanna was their other big hit. I love both songs but don't know any others. Both of these are in my iPod shuffle.

I only started off knowing Africa- but over the months, I have come to know MANY of their songs, and they are all totally rocking in their own way!

Stop Loving You
Lovers In The Night
Lion
Endless

All AMAZING tunes!!!

As far as I know Toto were a bunch of session players that started a band so musically they were more than competent but there was not much organic about them .Steve Lukather's guitar solo in Stand Back is great though.

I loved the song Hold the Line, until Mohegan Sun (the casino in CT) used the song with all the lyrics changed in one of their commercials. It really is an awful commercial. So now everytime I hear the song I conjure up an image of people singing about Mohegan Sun while dancing on escalators.

I think Mohegan Sun's latest commercial is to Superfreak. Ugh....

I don't remember the video, maybe it's on the YouTube.

Yeah having Hold the Line in a commercial is a downer, but I try and block it out of my mind, haha.
That's def. my favorite. Rosanna (for Rosanna Arquette) is my second fave. Very American Top 40 of me.

Ha! What about Muh-muh-muh-my-Mohegan (done to "My Sharona" by the Knack)? There should be a compilation of all of the awful songs they destroyed in their commercials.
