Stevie Lover in Australia
This is from the defamer blog in Australia
http://www.defamer.com.au/2009/10/st...ks-stand-back/ Stevie Nicks – ‘Stand Back’ By Jess McGuire on October 7, 2009 at 12:00 PM You might remember a few weeks ago I shoved Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Seven Wonders’ down your throat… and you loved it. Or at the very least I didn’t receive any death threats over the incident so I am just going to assume you loved it. Fleetwood Mac is still my happy place, and I’ve been working hard at ensuring ‘Seven Wonders’ gets played everywhere I go. And God bless Derek Guille from 774 ABC Melbourne who managed to surprise me with it during an appearance on his Evening show on Monday night! He’s very lucky I didn’t scream “**** YEAH” on air when the song began playing. It tends to have that effect on me. I really love Derek Guille, by the way. He is a true gentleman. The world would be a better place if there were more broadcasters like him. ANYWAY, I AM GETTING OFF TOPIC. My Fleetwood Mac obsession is slowly turning into a Stevie Nicks obsession (sorry, Christine! Sorry, the other dudes!), and there is a small small tiny minuscule chance that I might get to meet her when she comes to Australia. As you can imagine, I am giddy with delight at the prospect, and listening to as much Stevie Nicks as possible at the moment. The wonderful Fee Bee-Squared from Triple R’s Breakfasters introduced me to the Stevie song ‘Stand Back’ and it’s amazing. How could I have only just discovered it? I am angry at myself, but also relieved that it is now in my life. It should be in your life too. |

http://www.defamer.com.au/2009/10/a-...tack-gypsy-83/ A Must For Any Fleetwood Mac Attack: ‘Gypsy 83′ By Clem Bastow on October 9, 2009 at 10:52 AM Here’s a little something for our Fearless Leader this morning: a couple of years ago, a friend and I got very excited about the film Gypsy 83, which we’d stumbled upon while scouring the internet for Stevie Nicks-related fantasy art. I duly ordered the DVD from Amazon and we sat down to soak it in while burning purple candles and wearing spiderweb lace. In short, it was amazing. If this plot summary doesn’t excite your inner goth/misfit, I don’t know what will: Two young misfits head for New York City to celebrate their idol and muse, Stevie Nicks, at The Night of 1,000 Stevies. Along the road, in order for them to escape their painful pasts, they must discover their strengths and learn self-acceptance. And since I’ve been meaning to introduce dear Jess – who, as you’ll notice, is (re)discovering the wondrousness of both Fleetwood Mac and Ms. Nicks lately – to this fine independent film (starring Sara Rue, who you might remember from Can’t Hardly Wait as the hippie student who “baaaa”s at Jennifer Love Hewitt), I thought why not introduce it to all of youses, by way of the trailer: |
