If you're going to San Francisco...

I'm traveling to San Francisco (and will not wear some flowers in my head  )

I'm going to the Oracle Openworld in octobre. Wrong year, since it wa 2007 I guess when Stevie and Mick showed at the final party. This time Aerosmith was announced, but with Tyler accident, I doubt it.

Ok, I'll stay the weekend on my own, and my flight leaves at 9am, so I have to be at the airport at 7am aprox. But no Bart or Caltrain trains departs before 8am. That's too late so I'm thinking in taking an (expensive) cab. Does anybody knows SF and suggest an alternative for transport to the airport on early sunday mornings?

SamTrans (www.samtrans.com) offers early morning service on Sundays from San Francisco (the terminus being 1st & Mission) to SFO.

This might be a good option for you. Otherwise, a cab from downtown to SFO usually runs $30-$35- a quick trip with no traffic on Sunday morning.

I vote you get a cab. The max you're gonna be paying is $40ish and trust me, the airport is NOT actually in San Francisco, but 15 minutes south. Life would be so much easier if Muni went everywhere :(

1) Not exactly breaking news for anyone even remotely familiar with San Francisco/SFO, and 2) BART obviously goes there (and quite directly), but just not early in the morning on Sunday.

Cabs are always convenient, but if there's a viable option that costs $1.75 vs. $35, its worthy of consideration.

BART and Muni aren't the same thing.

When I went to San Francisco, I wore flowers in my hair. (hehe... I had to do it.) I might even have a picture on a different computer... haha!

I know that, thank you (not that I said they were, mind you).

I don't mean to sound snippy- I guess I'm just not sure how a Muni Metro line to the airport from downtown would be anything other than redundant, as basically most (if not all) Metro lines don't start running until 8AM on Sundays anyways.

Thanks everybody.
Arriving to SFO I'll take the Bart, but my return will be by cab, easier at early sunday morning.

And I know I'll enjoy the city;)

Anyway, you'll have a great time, its a brilliant city.

That's what I would do, too. I've pretty much split my time between here & SF the past three years, and I can't say I've ever taken SamTrans/would want to rely on it.

Have fun! and, if you have the time, go to Fog City Diner and order the "Stevie Nicks"! http://www.seriouseats.com/talk/2008...ne.html#157333
