VERY cool! :)

Unless I'm mistaken, it doesn't yet contain the phrase "never did I mean to imprison you." Maybe I just didn't catch it. It also has some different lines at the end, I think - I couldn't quite make it out.

It does, somewhere around 1:17, it says 'never did I mean to imprison you... here in my garden' etc. I think the lyrics are the same as what ended up on "Say You Will", actually.

Listen to that drum machine crack like a whip. It takes you back to the days of Human League, Gary Numan, & Kim Wilde.

The days when just about all of the instrumental tracks were generated by a single finger on an Oberheim.

I love this version:D...It would have sounded so good on RAL. It was a mistake to omit it, though it's rumored to be among the 1st set of recordings for Stevie's 3rd solo outing that she shelved after parting ways w/ Iovine and going back to the drawing board left to her own devices and calling upon Rick Knowles among others, to what would end up on RAL.

This version kicks FM version to the curb even in all its 80's synth cheese, simply by the passionate and volcanic vocal Stevie delivers. It's eye opening....simply stunning! This version of RTTG would be up there w/"Wild Heart" or "Edge Of 17" as tour de force vocal performances that are on par with most of Stevie's live concert performances from 81'-86'.

Gosh, I think the 'Say You Will' version is worlds better. I don't hear any great vocals, at all, being cut loose on this version. Funny, first time I heard the demo- maybe 15 years ago- I thought 'what a crap song!' I was shocked when I saw it announced pre-issue as one of the SYW tracks, but imo, LB really improved upon this demo, greatly.
Though, I still can't believe how 'Smile At You' got mucked up on SYW- many, many years ago, I played the demo versions of Smile At You for friends who kind of mocked my great collection of all things Stevie, and one friend who couldn't stand Stevie Nicks made me replay "Smile At You"--
"Now that's a great song!" he said, finally, when it ended the 2nd time -- and it was great, in the 2 demo versions of it I had, and I guess, still have. What happened to it on SYW is really, really a shame. But 'Running Through The Garden' imo fared very well on SYW.
