Favorite Music Video?

Figured we could start a thread, what is your favorite videos and why? Mine are mostly for the beauty of the videos although I also like the songs of course!

Mine are:

Stand Back: Love the song, and also the black dress is so pretty especially when she twirls with the shawl!
Everday: I think is so beautiful and kind of mystical she reminds me of Pandora, the white dress with the "mad hatter" setting is gorgeous don't care too much for the pink dress though which in her commentary she didn't either.
Sorcerer: Another mystical looking video, i like the writings on the walls and the white lacey top is awesome and also her eyes are this deep shade of brown like she wore contacts.

These are videos of music, although not necessarily music videos, they are my hands-down favorites! (and I had to choose two, haha!):

Nightbird:

Wild Heart:

My favourite video has to be Gypsy...

It truly cemented my fascination with Stevie, I especially love the sparkly white dress she wears whilst she dancing in the "forest" and how the glitter falls down onto her while she's twirling...

Possibly the best video ever made!

How can't you love it?

My favorite video is the one for ROOMS ON FIRE. I love watching her on the balcony with her arms outstreched and her shawl blowing in the wind. I love when it shows her sitting at the white grand piano and working onher art and dancing like a mirage over the swimming pool with that man and falling backwards in front of the fireplace and at the party in that red dress looking bored till that man asked her to dance and holding the baby in the livingroom and sitting under the netting in her bedroom and being led into heave/utopia at the end and and and and I just love this video. Oh yeah and the part where she walks down the cyrved grand staicase and watching that car driving up the mountain to the house where she has the movie star view and what else have I forgot?

My 2nd favorite video is IF ANYONE FALLS and my favorite part is when she is sitting in the movie theatre and she looks totally HOT and puts her hand on her chin.

I second Rooms on Fire. My favorite part is her standing in the middle of the living room with that silk white gown on holding the baby, like you mentioned. Not only is it a very dreamy and beautiful video, I love it because she could have just done something like Stand Back, where there really isn't much meaning, just singing, BUT, she really kind of acted out the song and let us into her world. It was a very personal and vulnerable thing to do (cus I am dramatic and thats how I roll). Because even though Stevie says she doesn't have any regrets, I'm sure she has a lot of "what if's" in her life, and this video gives us a glimpse into that.

Bryson, did you know that Stevie wrote the concept of the Rooms On Fire Video? She had it all drawn out on cardboards too. There is a picture of it somewhere. Maybe in the TOSOTM Tour Book??

I LOVE the Rooms on Fire video...the whole thing is just gorgeous! From her standing by that lamp dressed in white and then holding the baby and waving bye to the baby, the close ups of her singing, to the guy coming for her in the end and her dying...its just amazing. In the CV commentary she says something about how its the most "up" and "positive" love song she has ever written and I can't help but just be like "What???" I guess maybe if you don't know her story it could be considered up and positive but knowing that she never got to experience the things in that song is heartbreaking. I think its sad and the video makes me cry (I know, I'm such a girl :p)

Looks like I am going with the masses..I love Rooms On Fire...the red sexy dress, the white dress w/ the little baby, the scene of her painting a self portrait..it's all so Stevie and So good!! I've loved this video since the first time I saw it..

funny tidbit: This song was massivley played on the radio when it came out in my area...I was about 12 years old maybe...anyway, I had to go get a tooth pulled at the dentist, and I was scared..so, I remember comforting myslef with this song...so fanatic huh?

Gypsy and Stand Back are my favorites for their choreographed group dance sequences. I also like Seven Wonders because the outfits look great.

golddustdrummer 08-29-2009 11:04 AM

I CAN'T WAIT
because it was always playing on VH1 while I was getting ready for school
I laugh so hard at 2:24-2:27 b/c its like she turns around and is about to sing.
then she just doesn't, and bits her lip instead.

a close second is
TALK TO ME

I just love both of these...
she seems in good spirits, smiles a ton, and interacts with the camera
her mannerisms are so funny :D

daniellaaarisen 08-29-2009 06:24 PM

For "Rooms On Fire", is that just a random baby? Or someone's baby? Do we have any idea?
