1991/92 Matthew Rolston Photo Of Stevie
One of my favorite photographers Matthew Rolston took this photo of Stevie around 1991 or 1992. It was featured in a Rolling Stone Magazine issue called "Portraits". I had a hard time finding it online so I had to take a picture of it with my camera from the magazine it's self since I don't have a scanner. It has already been posted in my google and yahoo groups "Windchild". Enjoy!

Whoa, holy Stevie boobage.

Are you sure it´s from 1991/92? I don´t know, but I´d say much earlier, like ´88 or ´89.

I have a real Love/Hate relationship with this photo. It is very dramatic and very different from any other pic Stevie has done and I like that, however.........I still don't like her look. It will never be one of my favorites......but I do like the boobage.....the boobage works......keep that.

I don't like this picture. At all. She looks like some washed up country singer.

Also, to elaborate, they've seemed to pick an angle which makes her look HUGE. Yeah, she was heavy during this era. But some other pictures around "Timespace" or just after still manage to capture her beauty. This manages to make her look fat and old.

She looks lovely,
If a little chubby. what would she be here, 44? |

I don't think she was chubby, I think it was this goofy dress she was wearing that made her look like this. She started wearing these dresses at the time that just hid her figure. So it made her look huge. It was an awful dress. And I can understand some peoples disapointment in the photo, Rolston shot her from a strange angel, and a lot of us don't see pics of her from this kind of angel and that's why it looks strange. Also her mouth looks a little different. I think they really must've over did it with the lipstick and liner. We just aren't used to seeing a photo of her like this. Everything she did was with Herbie and it was all her own style. This is a different photographer and it was Rolston's style.
By the way on the back of this photo (the next page of the magazine), you'll never guess who's pic it is...Don Henley and his photo is very handsome. I think so anyway. |
