Axl Rose Connection

I just read in a biography about Guns N' Roses by Stephen Davis called Watch You Bleed that Axl Rose used to tape all of Stevie's MTV videos back in the mid-eighties and study them for hours so that he could copy her "ballet dance moves." There is also a pix of them together along with Steven Tyler of Aerosmith in the book. Who'd have thought Axl Rose would like our fair-haired girl-but he did. I guess every rose has its thorns!:]

I borrowed mine from the local library so check yours and you could save a few bucks. It's a relatively new book.

I'm not a Guns fan or anything but I do like reading about musicians and this book is a good read. Interesting to learn things like Axl Rose's real name is Bill Bailey-I kid you not-won't you come home Bill Bailey and the entire band was addicted, at one point or other, to Heroin and/or alcohol. Also, of interest to me was how they got their start playing at the Troub (Home of the Eagles) and the Roxy (I went to the Roxy last year to see both Joe Walsh and Glenn Frey.) :]

Not sure if that pun was intended but that's Poison, not Guns N' Roses ;)
Anyway, funny story!
I while ago I was looking on Google books and randomly found the biography written by Eminem's mother, according to her she took him to see Stevie and he loved it.

I never thought Stevie Nicks rated all that highly (except as pinup) among the thrashers & headbangers. Color me confused.

Equally perplexing is that he referenced and rated Stevie high for her ballet moves. Was he just high? With regard to her ballet proficiency, she's had some moments, but generally her moves are sort of clunky.

Ditto! What is more confusing is why she went to see them in concert back in 1988 when they opened for Aerosmith. :shrug:Must have been during her Klonopin and/or cocaine years!

Sorry about tagging Guns with a Poison quote. I knew it was a quote from one of those banger-bands. The funny thing is, Guns despised Poison.
