VH1 Classic Airing US Festival Day 3 w/Stevie 7/28 11am/11pm EST

Caught Day 2 completely by accident last night. They've selected only a handful of the acts and airing each day as a separate concert much like Showtime did back in 1983. However, VH1's versions are even shorter. Luckily, Stevie is one of the featured performers for Day 3.

DANG! Doesn't that mean it's in like 15 minutes? *flips to VH1*

GypsyBlueEyes 07-28-2009 09:52 AM

I've watched both day 1 and day 2 so far. There is a lot of commentary along with the performances. I wish they would just air the concert. Its still fun to watch though.

Huh... Brooke Knows Best... and I don't think it's on after that either, which would be 11:00 A.M. here. Wait, are VH1 Classic and VH1 different??? If so, I don't know if I have the Classic one.

:woohoo: 21 Guns mde #9 in the top 20 videos of the week! :woohoo:

Are they just going to play "Outside the Rain," "Stand Back," & "Stop" the way Showtime did?

Travis 07-28-2009 10:55 AM

Damn! As soon as I saw this post I ran to VH1 and I saw the credits rolling and saw Stevie and her band listed - so who watched it? What songs did they air? It seems to be repeating a few more times, 11PM EST tonight so, I've set my DVR already.

They showed Outside The Rain and Stand Back. ;)

They could have showed more...instead they had about 8 minutes of credits

This is what I get for taking summer school classes instead of keeping my eye out for Stevie stuff on tv! Ugh..... :(

Anyone know if it's going to be available/is available to watch online??

At least they didn't edit Mark Goodman's (one of the original MTV vj's) commentaries over her performance the way they did with U2 and others.

Why was Triumph on again for Day 3? They performed only on Day 2 and were included in that program already. Why not show the Pretenders or even Joe Walsh? That makes no sense. Yeah, the credits were weird. Why show the original credits from 1983?

This was clearly the Showtime broadcast but reedited. Stevie rerecorded her vocal for Stand Back and Stop Draggin for the original broadcast. Not sure why she did it but there were some really bad spots where the new vocal just didn't sync up to the video.

Anyway, it was nice to see clear video after all these years. It makes such a difference.

I was watching this last night without even knowing Stevie was on it. Like I knew she performed at it but I didnt think they would show her. UNTIL I saw her and I was like 'STEVIE! STEVIE! STEVIE!" Like jumping in my seat wicked excited and my friends were like "Whoa...."

I set my DVR last night and I totally forgot about it until I came here again today and saw this post - I just got done watching it. I remember talk all those years ago about Stevie re-recording the vocals for the broadcast for whatever the reasons were however, except for only one time when her head was clearly turned with the vocals still singing, I actually think it was synched up rather well.

Why can't they do this for 1982?
