From here: http://cubberley68.com/photo_album.2.html

Also, could this: http://cubberley68.com/images/parrish5-03.jpg be Stevie as well?

That's really cool.

Never heard of Cubberley before, so a quick wiki look up gives this info:

"Cubberley Community Center is a community center in Palo Alto, California that is housed on the campus of the former Cubberley High School, which opened in the fall of 1956 and closed in 1979...

Also found this neat bit of info from here:

This site provides a repository for the "Cubberley Catamount", a student newspaper that was produced while Cubberley High School in Palo Alto, California, was in operation. In 2007, the Cubberley buildings still look very similar to how they looked in the late 60s, although they are now being used as a Community Center.

December 8 1967
"Thanta flipths over Frithz", (Santa Flips over Fritz). Announcing the Fritz Rabyne Memorial Band to play for the Christmas dance. Admission $3.50 with a student body card, $5 without. (This was the dance where vocalist Stevie Nicks sang at Cubberley).

Also this:
At Cubberley, we hosted a concert with Buffalo Springfield and Sopwith Camel in April, 1967.

More obscure than that, Stevie Nicks sang at Cubberley’s 1967 Christmas Dance, as the vocalist in the Fritz Raybine Memorial Band. There is a photo of her at the microphone in the 1967/68 Totem (p. 66) with the drum from the “Fritz” right next to her.

I really don't think the other picture is her though. Looks like a cheerleader at Cubberley in '68 (this was for their 40 reunion last year). Stevie graduated from Menlo-Atherton in '66, I believe and I don't think she was a cheerleader, was she?

Thanks for the info!
I guess you're right about that other girl then.

Yeah...the cheerleader looks more like Stevie than the one we KNOW is Stevie.

Oh well...

Very, very cute. Reminds me of being a kid and watching Marlo Thomas as Ann Marie.

Yeah I agree, I still think it looks like Stevie but then again that was a very populair hairstyle at the time.

Dunno. Maybe not. She was named Homecoming Queen her senior year, though, wasn't she? Or maybe that was a year earlier at Arcadia High.

Today in history.

I believe this was Stevie's first public performance with Fritz.

PenguinHead 12-16-2012 08:10 PM

That first photo is amazing - so rare and historical.
I'm confident that the second photo is not Stevie. Just look at the jaw line, or the facial structure. That's not Stevie.

Rod~A~Little 12-16-2012 09:45 PM

Wow! I would not have recognized her!
Awesome pic!

Stevie has said that she was never a cheerleader. But was she on the dance team, or whatever that is? (or is that in fact what cheerleaders used to wear lol)
