Way Out

like the wind at my fingers…
I weave these magical wishes out to you…
listen to my words,
hear my voice…as it comforts your mind,
you may be long away from here…
you may be far from home…
but you are my way out…
you hear me…as you did so many times before,
ooh…the soldier stands in the distance,
as I walk forward…thru this nightmare,
do you see him,
he is there…I am here…singing…
“do you hear me…”
you are my way out of here…
you are the one to hear me now…
when all the doves have gone,
when only the shadows of sleep remain…
you are my way out…
you are the music to these words that I long to play
when you come back home…
when you come back to me…ooh…
follow the light that I send out to you…
ooh be my “way out”…
be my release…from these thoughts…
so that I may sleep…this night away…ooh…

with that comfort in her voice…
she is mother…daughter…lover…goddess…
magical wishes upon the midnight stars,
I keep those prayers inside my heart,
carrying every word…spoken,
like a special tear…given to me…
a father…son…brother…broken
by a distant storm…
an’ still…I want you to hear me…
I want you to know that I am
still standing here…
giving you all the strength I can…
so…listen to the wild winds…
listen for your mother’s voice…
those children lost in the desert…
tonight…listen for the Nightbird…
as she cries… “hear me…you are my way out…”

“…this poem was and is an inspiration from stevie’s Journal entry, she made me think of my own mother, the strength that is shared between a mother and her children…is a bond that is unbreakable…but we all turn to a mother when needed…so in my mind…this is what I think we would could say…thanks to Stevie for the words and being my own “way out”…”
