Hey Viv..

Thanks SOOOO much for this sweetie! I'll definitely have this on tomorrow.. I sure hope Stevie is there, at least, even if she doesn't perform..

Hugs,

Arlene

How odd.

Stevie was supposed to sing the national anthem at the first ever Arizona Diamondbacks game back in March 1998, but she backed out a week before (much to my 16 year old self's disappointment).

I'll believe it when I see it.

According to Perez Hilton:

The Jackson family just announced the names of participants at tomorrow's memorial for Michael:

They are (in alphabetical order):

Ron Boyd (family friend); Kobe Bryant; Mariah Carey; Andrae Crouch Choir; Berry Gordy; Jennifer Hudson; Shaheen Jafargholi (finalist on Britain’s Got Talent); Magic Johnson; Martin Luther King III; Bernice A. King; John Mayer; Lionel Richie; Smokey Robinson; Rev. Al Sharpton; Brooke Shields; Pastor Lucious Smith (family friend); Usher; and Stevie Wonder.

The memorial will be broadcast on all the major networks.

Note: this is an unconfirmed rumour.

I wish she were performing.

I think it would be most fitting for her to perform Landslide and Edge Of Seventeen...

To me those are probably her main signature songs from both her solo career and her Fleetwood Mac career.

It would be incredible with Landslide signifying change for so many...and with the background of Edge Of Seventeen (the death of John Lennon and so on...) I feel that Edge of Seventeen would be relevant and symbolic - the white winged doved ...the soul leaving the body.

And finally, Stevie has always been able to sing Landslide beautifully, and it's really been nicer than usual on this recent MAC tour. And if she only performed that and Edge Of Seventeen, it would probably be the best performance of it in a long time - considering she always sings it at the end of the set in her solo shows - This way she'd have lots of vocal strength.

Of course, this is just my dream.

This is the only report I have seen Stevie mentioned so I'll take it with a pinch of salt. TMZ have the confired (byt the family) line up and her name isn't included

I'm sure she'd probably do Landslide, but I think Edge is too much of a rock song for a memorial, despite some of the meaning to the song. If she were to perform I personally think Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You would be the best choice out of the songs she has performed live. I think the final lines "Poet, Priest of Nothing, Legend" would be especially fitting.

Stevie seems to back out on a lot of stuff =\ She needs to stop doing that HAHA I think that if she did more of these things she would be more "known" then she is.

I don't think she backed out of this, I think whoever wrote that article got confused with Stevie Wonder, who is confirmed to attend.
I would be really surprised if she turned up at this, I mean, she's never professed to be a fan of his and she wasn't a friend. It would just be odd imo.

I suspect that Stevie's rendition would not have been dissimilar to Carl Lewis's rendition:
