No camera restrictions
I just got my tickets for the 6/5 Saskatoon show, and it doesn't say "NO CAMERAS/RECORDERS ALLOWED" on it, so I'm assuming they are allowed. Has this happened with other shows?
|
In St.Paul they allowed cameras, but I don't think that recorders were allowed.
|
In Orlando, we had to sneak them in...there were people outside checking bags for cameras but they never checked anyone's pockets. Once we were inside, there were flashes going off everywhere but no one ever said anything about it as far as I know :)
|
My tickets for Columbus last month didn't say either or, so I took my camera with me and hid it. I got some good pictures and videos. But I do know that I wasn't allowed to have it!

I think their big thing is they don't want "professional" cameras in there.
I had a little Canon Powershot and as the arena was filling up, I recorded a 360 degree scan of the place (it was pretty cool). I had a security dude come over and ask if that was my cell phone or a camera. I told him the truth and he said I couldn't have it. Long story short, he figured out it wasn't a professional one and left me alone to enjoy the show :blob2: there were cameras going off like crazy during the show anyway. |
They were camera Nazis at the Ft. Lauderdale show- they made me go back to my car and put the camera back that was in my purse. I was wearing a short dress so I had nowhere to hide it!
|
I put mine in my bra...nobody's gonna look there!

usually i hide my camera, i have even hid it under my skirt:o~ but this time i just carried it in, in it's case w/ my silkscreen in the same hand~ tho i made no attempt to cover it~ nobody said anything to me~ there were tons of people videoing the show on their phones & tons of pics being taken~ there was absolutely no security by me at all, so i snapped away the whole show, saving just to slots for 2 pics of the band at the end, bowing~ the one thing i did tho was use no flash~ i didn't want to annoy or blind stevie during the show & piss her off~ but the band seemed to have no problem at all w/ picture or video taking~ & w/ no flash the pics were totally light enough~
& as i said in the omaha review of either mine or davidmn's that there were times during the show where lindsey was playing right to the tapers~ |
Sometimes I would hide my camera and if the venue was using metal detectors, I would be afraid that it would set them off. But it never did. I guess today's cameras aren't made of metal: all plastic:lol:.
I lost a good Leica camera at a Lindsey concert though and after that I really got paranoid and would rather leave my camera at home. I think it's because so many other Ledgies get great pictures that are so much better than mine anyway! Michele |
last year at the Borgata in AC at Stevie's shows I brought my digital Nikon in at both shows, fridays show was no problem ,the security did not give a hoot,a security gaurd was strait ahead from me and he was fine and calm about it.but at saturdays show,it was a different story. about 3 songs into Stevie's set list the security told to put the cameras away,or loose it.that did not make since, why friday it was ok ,but saturday not.

I have to say that I am always blown away by how great many Ledgies' pics turn out. I get excited whenever new ones are posted. I have always attempted to bring a cam in, but I'm always the one security likes to stand near (for some reason). I don't understand why, I'm not very intimidating, but they're always flocked around. However, at two shows I got FANTASTIC pics. One was on Lindsey's UTS tour in Long Island, New York and the other was on the GOS tour in Wisconsin (I never posted them).
The first time I actually sneaked in a professional camera. It wasn't like I was going to sell the pics because, fgs, who the hell would buy them when you could get just-as-great ones here? I mean, I love LB but let's be frank, his image isn't going for a strong market outside of FM/LB fans. But, long story short, pics turned out beautiful, Lindsey was in a foul mood that entire show, and my camera was stolen at Penn Station. Not the greatest end to my trip. The second time the security guy was flirting with me, so I just used it to my advantage and asked him-sweetly- if he would let me take pictures. He was totally cool about it. I had 2nd row seats, so they turned out awesome. I felt it was vindication for the previous experience. On a whole, though, pic-taking gets a little annoying. The past few FM shows I went to I took no pictures. It was so important to catch every second and dance along (for me), but I am SO appreciative towards others who do take the time to get pictures and share them. You rock!!!:xoxo: |
