Defense Counsel

Wonder what this is about. It was on a website for John P. McNicholas. I will have to see if the court indexes on line go back 25 years. I don't think so.

Befroe founding the firm in 1983, he served as defense counsel in several prominent cases, including representation of former L.A. Dodger pitcher Carlos Lopez, former U.S Congressman, Andrew J. Hinshaw (People v. Hinshaw), Lindsey Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac, the Vatican, GTE Directories Corporation, Ayerst Laboratories and Wyeth Laboratories, now known as American Home Products/Wyeth Pharmaceutical, and the late movie mogul, King Vidor.

Odd. I don't remember anything in the press. I guess whatever it was was kept under wraps.

Maybe it was a drug charge, like the one John McVie got nailed with in 1980.

You don't think it was an assault & battery type of thing, do you?

But if it was some criminal thing, we would have heard about it, even if the charges were dropped eventually. Don't you think? Like we heard about John, Julie, Waddy, etc.

I just think it's funny that this attorney would promote himself by saying he represented LB when no one can think of any lawsuit that Buckingham was even in. How does that help get you any business?

I know Lindsey has long been one of several people (which also includes Stevie, Azoff, Candace Bergen, James Taylor, Louis Malle, Diane Van Furstenberg, Diane Keaton, Carly Simon and Crystal Gayle) in some kind of investment pool (and I guess the business had/has an attorney, but this guy doesn't name any of those other people in his portfolio resume. I'm just glad to read that Lindsey has the same attorney as the Vatican:laugh:.

Actually, they are a little scary - one of my first cases as a law clerk was working for the firm representing the Catholic Church in the priest sex abuse cases. Talk about scary people
