What would Stevie think of this?
I have noticed on ebay that people are auctioning off their signed copies of the Soundstage CD and DVD. I don't get it...why go through all that most of you who went had to endure to just sell it on ebay, it doesn't make any sense to me. Then again, it does, because all some people see are $$$. Here's some of the auctions...and check out the asking prices! And not to mention...what would Stevie think of this?

this was posted in one of the BN threads
and it disgusts me those people arent REAL fans and maybe REAL fans were the ones out on the street getting turned away coz the line was so massive i hope no1 here buys any of that i didnt go. i don't haven anything Stevie auto'ed but no way would i line their asses with my $$$ Stevie will never do anything like this ever again if this is what's gonna happen  |
I'll be glad to sign your Soundstage Sessions CD's or
Live in Chicago DVD's for less $$$. Choose from the following signatures: "Stevie Nicks"........$25.00 each. "Miley Cyrus" ........$35.00 each. "Elvis Presley".....$750.00 each. * "iamnotafraid".....$950.00 each. *(note limited supply of Elvis' signatures) COA included with each order. |
I don't think it's that terrible.
For me, I would absolutely stand in that line simply to meet Stevie...an autograph really doesn't do much for me (I'd much rather have a photo with her). Why not go for the experience and then sell the CD to someone who might want it? Charging $150 for it though...that's a different story... |

What would Stevie think of this? Hmm. She'd probably think "there's a sucker born every minute." As iamnotafraid suggested, anyone can buy a cd/dvd, get a marker and sign "Stevie Nicks" to it with a little practive. Stevie already made her money selling the product. Hopefully her fans are smart enough to know the value isn't in "the signature," but in the music.

I think it's morally wrong to sell it. It's a slap in Stevies' face making money off of a signature . No true fan would do this!

Ok, now I feel really dumb. I was thinking it was the signed copy from her internet, but that was the lithograph thing. Supposedly the first handful of people were getting a signed copy of that. This sucks even more though, that they stand in line for what probably felt like forever and then go and do something like this. Yeah... it's like a couple of y'all said. Probably weren't true fans at all. It's still very sad.

There are always people looking to make a $...
However in this economic climate where people are struggling to keep their houses, maybe we shouldn't judge too harshly the things people will do to make money... |
I don't judge. I'm just surprised these things sell. I would never buy an autographed item that wasn't directly from the source. Even the Lindsey autographs I bought at his concert (see my avi), I sometimes wonder when I look at it: did he really sign those? I have faith he did since I bought them from the official souvenir desk at his concert, but these ebay items? :wavey:
ETA: I also have no use for autographs, usually, so I hardly ever seek them out. However, I got the Stevie autographs cuz I'm going to frame them with my Mick autographs in order to celebrate the year in Mac 2009. :) |

Besides, for every fan there, they might have dragged their dearest friend or family member with them and they decided to take advantage of the situation. |
