Old Concert on New Rumours?
 

What are the chances that someone at the label will put one of those old Fleetwood Mac concerts on one of the CDs in the new box set?

Say ... Missoula or Boston or the Garden 1977?

Slim to none?

Putting out a good old raw show where the performance was really great & it wasn't the the same schtick every night & there weren't 50 backup musicians would just be silly - why would anyone want that when they already have Live in Boston?

Just give me something I haven't seen or heard. I don't mind if it's the same material- as long as I haven't seen it before!

I would like some new stuff, but just cleaning up some of the old 15th generation copies of stuff that's been floating around for years would be nice too.

So if they released a "Live in Buffalo" from the SYW tour, with the exact same tunes as the "Live in Boston" DVD, you'd buy it?

No, not the SYW tour, but release a Dance video that I don't have, with the exact same tunes as the one on the DVD and yes I would buy it in a heart beat. If they put out a box set dvd of all the Dance concerts and charged $1000 for it, I'd pay it. I'd pay much more than that.

Why? :shrug: Nothing too dramatically different happened from show to show that tour either. I would like a nice clean copy of a complete show from that tour, just to get the tunes that were left off the official DVD. But just 1 show, not all of them.

Now, that's not to say I don't collect - I have several boots of several shows from the same tours. I just don't think I'd pay much for them. That being said, I think if Mac put up each show available for DL, people would be willing to pay $10 or $20 for a nice clear recording of the show(s) they attended. But they won't.

Be nice to have an old concert on this new Rumours.... Of the Rumours era band - Fleetwood Mac and Rumours are the only two albums/tours that didn't have some sort of live footage released commercially.

Well, there is that whole meltdown episode in Atlantic City during "Silver Springs." I think what makes The Dance such a novelty is that it was a very brief tour and it was Christine's last hurrah. And now that we know what FM is like without Christine, we just appreciate those good old days even more. I suppose it's also like being a stamp collector- you want multiple copies of something because it is so rare and because it will never be made again.

^ I get that people would want a show that they attended or that something different happened at, but those shows were few & far between. The "meltdown" was more of a touching, poignant moment IMO. Not that I wouldn't like to see it nice & clear on my big screen TV. :nod: I guess I just don't get why people feel the need to see every show when they're all the same....baby, all the same.

This from a girl who has probably the first 30 SYW shows on either CD and/or DVD & then said "um, what's the point?" :o I just don't watch them anymore, nor do I have the desire to. Sure, there's a good show here & there, but most are no different than the others. Same with my Dance shows. :shrug: Meh.

Now, Rumours shows are a different matter, because there just isn't that much vid out there compared to the recent tours. And it still bothers me to no end that there are NO Mirage tour boot vids out there - those were some of the best shows ever, IMO.

What was the "meltdown" about?

The Dance tour was a very special time and watching those shows now I do appreciate and miss Christine a great deal. She added such grace to the show and I've always loved her beautiful voice. BTW, I was at that Atlantic City show and the ending of SS was quite a moment!!

Stevie got all emotional & started to cry & couldn't sing the last line of Silver Spring so LOB did. It was the second to last (third?) show of the tour.
