They played SHN and then when it came time to introduce Lindsey he wasn't there. The DJs weren't too happy about it. They jokingly said, "he's supposed to be here, but he's not. Oh well, I guess he's not a friend of the show after all."

Lindsey's there. He says rehearsals have been cool so far. Everyone's still trying to become an adult and they are having fun.
Lindsey says of the new CD/DVD "yes, they're going to run that thing into the ground." How does he feel knowing that everyone has Rumours in their album collection. He says it's not just the one album. It's good that he's done something with his life that worked its way into the fabric of everyone's life. The memories are embedded and contextualized so that they stay with you no matter what. So, the CD/DVD didn't mean anything special to him. It didn't bring back memories for him.. The record company compiled it. It's just a marketing tool. FM wasn't involved except in an editorial capacity. |
Lindsey's been writing. He loved his last tour and thought it was too short. He wants to put out more solo work and also be prepared if FM wants to do something else.
How does he feel when people worship him, when they show up at his solo shows? "Well, I'm thinking gee what's wrong with these people? Because I have my own self-esteem issues right." He says that he's lucky that he can make the big movie and the small movie and it's the small ones that keep you grounded in the religion of the music. He likes the audience who likes his work that's more to the left. |

Caller Michael asks a question,
Did banjo help him get his guitar technique? He wasn't a banjo player first. He started in the fifties with the guitar. He only got interested in the banjo when folk music swept the US. The fast roll stayed with him and translated into his guitar style, for one reason because he never got into using a guitar pick. He's a "refined primitive" not skilled. He's just glad that he's found something he can call his own that he can do pretty well. With a little gray by his temples is there a level of appreciation for what they've all accomplished together now, that breaks through the friction? Yes, he thinks so and he says you would think that would not have taken so long to get to. But there were some tensions and you separate and come back together, so it's kind of a hit or miss thing. But they are apppreciating each other more and "in the face of adversity we triumph musically." They are now thinking in terms of dignifying the path they've been down together and trying to realize the love that's been there. They mention something about not having an engineer for him one of the times he was on in the past and he laughs and says he remembers that and it's all rock and roll and he'll be back any time they want to talk to him. |
