What Fleetwood Mac songs are softsational??
Right now I'm watching the 40 most softsational rock songs at VH1
here is the list: http://stereogum.com/archives/****-l...gs_005507.html and there is no Fleetwood Mac song. I wonder what songs could have been there. Maybe Dreams? It's a soft rock melody, though the Rumours lyrics are full of conflict and a bit far from sweet romanticism (maybe except for Songbird). According to VH1 these songs were titans of tenderness... the sultans of sensitivity... the monsters of mellow, I guess FM songs does not fit there, or some song does? What I realize also is that singers were more romantic during 70s and 80s. Silly sweet lyrics were easy to become hits. By the way, the "commentary from an award-winning, non-threatening panel of celebrities, comedians, journalists and soft rock experts" is really funny. |
my top 40 softsational songs would all be fleetwood mac.

They have plenty of songs that qualify, but frankly I don't want to publicize that fact. They already get ridiculed so much for being soft, pop that I don't want to contribute to that image. So, I'm relieved they weren't included. It's certainly part of who they are, but only a part. The general perception of them is so lopsided. Michele

If "Warm Ways" was released as a single and was even moderately successful, it would be on that list.

I was gonna say WW. But, since that has been taken, I'd also say Over and Over, Sara, and Mystified, just off top of my head.

My favorite Fleetwood Mac song among the quieter work is DRAGONFLY.
You know DRAGONFLY? You know, you know? |
