Movie Plot or Dialog Interconnections

Remember the scene in HIS GIRL FRIDAY when Cary Grant (as Walter Burns) says, "Ah, yes, a home with Mother" -- followed by a smothered chortle & a little roll of his shoulder -- "and in Albany, too!" It's a picture of devastating mockery, but so slight & slippery that Bruce (Ralph Bellamy) doesn't notice. Hildy (Ros Russell) notices, & we do, too.

I never thought about the connection before, but this scene is a replay of the "Oklahoma City" scene in THE AWFUL TRUTH -- same joke, same setup, even two of the same actors in the same relationship within the joke (Grant & Bellamy).

"And if you get bored in Oklahoma City, you can always go over to Tulsa for the weekend."
