Lindsey's weirdest songs

What are your contenders? Everyone's ideas of weird are different, so I thought this would be an interesting thread.

Here are my picks:

Oh Diane - It just doesn't sound like something Lindsey would record, but then again, he's a little odd. :xoxo:

Time Bomb Town - The vocals are just syncopated in a weird way... "cause I'm a lo-ne-ly stranger in this ti-i-me bo-mb to-wn" I don't even know how to type out the way he sings this song!

Gift of Screws - "WAA WAA WAAHAA HAHHAHAHHAAA OHHAHHH AAHOAAWOOWWWW"

Play In The Rain - The synths in the first two minutes sound straight out of some 70's space rock song (complete with love grunts), and then Lindsey says, "LET'S PLAY!" and it sounds like I've walked into a psychedelic Hindu wedding ceremony.

Caroline - Lindsey's continuing on with the Indian/African hybrid music.

My picks would be (and it doesnt mean I don't like them). I say they are weird because the music sounds strange...or the lyrics are bizarre. And some of them just have a creepy ambiance.

The Ledge

Make Me A Mask

Murrow Turning Over In His Grave

This Is The Time

Come

Tusk

Gift of Screws

I don't like "Miranda." Anybody know who he is referring to? I always think of Madonna when I hear it.

Also, not a big fan of "Come." He has stated that the song is about Anne Heche.

That song, I was like 'wtf' when I heard it. I supposed it was his turn to produce an asian song. I mean Stevie (Battle of the Dragon) and Christine (Skies the Limit [opening at least]) both did asianish songs.

Tusk I think is his most UnLindsey like song on the whole record.
[SMAP too, but I try to forget about it's exsistance haha]

Pretty sure Miranda is also about Anne Heche.

I would say "Gift of Screws" is one of his weirdest. It's also one of my favorites but I tend to like the more weird/manic Lindsey stuff. I adore "Play in the Rain" as well. I'm basically obsessed with "Johnny Stew" (kind of the original "Gift of Screws" for me, in a way) and "Love From Here, Love From There", both of which are closer to the bizarre end of the spectrum. I love the quirk.

But the lion (from the Like a Virgin video?) still rules Madonna, and Madonna is always alone... yeah, it works.

Bwana is some weird ****. And the beginning of That's How We Do It In LA made me jump the first time I played it.

Time Precious Time is annoying/odd.

Finally I find somebody who I agree about those 2 songs!!!!!!!!

Yes, Miranda fits in with Anne Heche's description of the sexual abuse she suffered at her father's hands.

I'm really into Miranda. Thematically, it reminds me of that old song, Angie baby, you're a special lady. Living in a world of make believe . . . well, maybe. Miranda's eerie and psychedelic. In fact, it's got a mystic vibe that I think Stevie should be proud of.

What about DW Suite? I know its supposed to be about Dennis Wilson who drowned right?? Do we have to have drowning noises at the end though?

Lets just call this song what it is, really.

Lindseys strangest song in my eyes in Bwana.

I just have no idea what its all about. If i was introducing a friend to lindsey that would be at the bottom of the "here, wait till you hear this one" pile

I think it's weird that he did the song "Midnight Wind" with John Stewart with Miranda in it. Guess he thought the name was intriguing...

Oh, you know you are making me run to listen to the end right now, don't you?

That's funny. Michele

I think Bwana is about Mick Fleetwood--didn't he go off to some island somewhere and record?

Yes, I like Lindsey's "weird" songs too. "Johnny Stew" (kind of the original "GOS"). I agree. I like 'em both.
