Barf. An EP should have unreleased tracks on it.

An EP is an extended single. LB said himself the record company wanted to release Did You Miss Me as a single. So here it is. They've included some live tracks. That's pretty standard, I think.

It would be nice for it to get some play wherever it is that it can get play nowadays.

Well Did You Miss Me was already released as a single, prior to the release of GOS. I wish they had used this to feature Love Runs Deeper as the A-side. And yes a new song would have been nice. MOrrissey always has at least one new b-side on his singles. same with the pet shop boys. amy winehouse. i could go on, but you get the general idea*

*pace that vulgar picture painter Morrissey

I've heard several of the cuts on XM radio.

Ok, so, what about the new Coldplay EP that just came out? It had 4 new tracks on it.

*sticks tongue out*

Unfortunately Lindsey has never really subscribed to the "let's release some new stuff on the b-sides to released singles" I remember reading some promo stuff from the OOTC era where there were supposedly lots of leftovers and none of them were used on the four OOTC singles :distress:

I can only speculate that Make Me A Mask and On The Wrong Side came from the OOTC sessions that were leftovers and have seen a release in one form or another.

Oh for a new expanded remaster of OOTC with all the supposed leftover songs included as extras.

Plus unlike Ms Nicks, Lindsey normally has his unreleased stuff under lock and key (of course GOS sessions and Village Recorder sessions are the exception)

It was peaking at about 60-70 plays a week in October - according to Media Base.... It peaked just outside of the top 40 on the AAA Charts, I think #41. Here's some stats as of today... So far this year it's been played 904 times on AAA stations alone:

I believe MAKE ME A MASK comes from the year or so that he was composing for TANGO (or his third solo album) because of its obvious stylistic similarities with that material. I mean specifically the use of the pentatonic.

Well what they can do and what they DO do are two different things.
The lineup on this EP is still standard operating procedure.

It would be nice to have more, I would certainly LOVE that. But what we're seeing with more and more regularity is that we won't get it, so we'll live with what we do have.

It's still nice to see some push behind this record.
