Nicks' SoundStage "BLUERAY DISC" on Ebay???

Someone's offering Stevie's SoundStage DVD "BLUERAY" version on Ebay.
Looks like a fake to me. I've seen promo's of the standard disc, but this
looks suspicious.

If one of you Ledgies wins it, let us know if it's the real thing.

i think it is probably a fake. what is the price of it?

I found another one since my last post.
One is at a current bid of $11.00
and the other is a buy it now for $45.oo

The first one looks to be a complete fake and
the second one could possibly be the misconcetion
that many people are having about the PBS DVD.
It is not, I repeat not in High Definition. The show
was filmed in Hi Def, but the DVD PBS released was a
standard DVD.

I'm sure at some time in the future it will be released
in Hi Def "BLUERAY".

One last thing about the DVD. Why wouldn't someone
just order it from PBS, instead of paying almost $200.00
on ebay (like I've seen some go for). RIDICULOUS!

It's Blu-ray. I wouldn't be surprised if they decided to release on Blu-ray, that's the way home entertainment is going - at least that's what the studios hope.

If you're correcting me on my spelling of "Blu-ray" you're correct.
And I feel sure we will see Stevie's SoundStage DVD released on "Blu-ray".

But I stand by my original post.

I'm not disagreeing with you, it probably will be released on Blu-ray (no quotation marks necessary) and it could be real because distributors/studios send out Blu-ray promos or check discs, as they are called. That said, if it is a legitimate promo they shouldn't be selling it. I've known journalists get sacked for doing just that.

I didn't think you were disagreeing with me, I just thought you were correcting my misspelling of the word Blu-ray. Which is fine, because I misspell words all the time.

I haven't been sent a Blu-ray promo yet of any artist, but you're probably right that it will eventually change to that.

But I wasn't trying to get anyone in trouble on Ebay, they aren't hurting me. I just thought one of the DVD's mentioned was a bootleg. And the other might have been an honest mistake on the part of the seller. I don't have my copies of SoundStage in front of me, but I do believe they state "captured in hi-def", which of course doesn't mean the DVD itself is in hi-def.

I looked at that one guy's auction and he had almost 600 sales and a 100% approval rating. It's really intriguing. I only own 2 blu-ray discs (the two X-files movies), so it'd be fun to have something to add to my collection. The thing about blu-ray though, is aside from the picture quality, it's best if you have behind the scenes information and features that people can click on as they watch the movie, so that you can get full use out of the blu-ray functionality.

Fleetwood Mac wouldn't know how to give us "extras" like that if their very lives depended upon it.

I've been sent loads of Blu-ray check discs/promos myself. The majority are films but I've had a couple of music ones too.
But yeah, it could be a mistake by the seller.

Here Is The Answer!!!

TONIGHT, I went down to SEARS... They have it EXCLUSIVELY... Now, here is the thing. It is a BLURAY of SOUNDSTAGE. There are several songs that are NOT on this disc. HOWEVER: I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! It will pass the time until January when, STEVIE LIVE IN CHICAGO will come out. So... in short, LIVE IN CHICAGO will be out in january. If you need a BLURAY Stevie fix... Go get it at SEARS. The songs are great and it is a much better experience than let us say, YOUTUBE!!!! GO GET IT!!!

Love,
KEN

Excellent find, kennation!

I just checked their website, and there it is. Although, content-wise, it's identical to the DVD that PBS is selling (ie: it's still missing "Dreams" and "Beauty And The Beast").

How is it that n0ne of us knew about this before?

Looking around, I see that Sears is also exclusively selling a "Best Of Soundstage" Blu-ray disc, which features Stevie and Fleetwood Mac.

Foreigner - Feels Like The First Time (5:10)
Stevie Nicks - Gold Dust Woman (9:58)
Steve Winwood - Dear Mr. Fantasy (8:38)
Sheryl Crow - Every Day Is A Winding Road (5:57)
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers - Refugee (5:01)
Heart - Magic Man (5:25)
George Jones - He Stopped Loving Her Today (3:27)
Trace Adkins - Chrome (3:10)
REO Speedwagon - Take It On The Run (4:04)
Chris Isaak - Wicked Game (4:39)
Idina Menzel - Defying Gravity (3:56)
Idina Menzel and Josh Groban - Awake (5:02)
Jewel - Foolish Games (4:25)
Jewel - Hands (4:06)
Ringo Starr and the Roundheads - Photograph (3:48)
Fleetwood Mac - The Chain (5:06)

Ken, excellent find. Maybe you could post a scan of the front and back cover?

The one listed on the Sears website looks like the standard version.

Guess I'll have to buy a Blu-ray player by 3/24/09

kennation 12-17-2008 08:54 AM

They are basically the same cover only one difference: THE COLOR. Being colorblind, I do not know exactly what colors, but I am seeing a shades different. One seems like a wawrm color and the other seems like a cool tone. (Sorry, that's all I got) Now the one from Sears copy looks just like to one on the website. Live in Chicago has a blue background. Same pic and everything.

Hope that helps since my scanner's not workin.

Ken
