Duffy "ROCKFERRY", do any of you have the CD?
Just wanted to know your thoughts on this CD? I just got a copy this week and I think it's a great album. Got a real late 60's vibe to it. Most albums have to grow on me a little, but I knew I liked this one the first time I played it. Don't know much about her yet, except that I saw her on SNL (maybe that's a sign, I became a Stevie fan after watching her performance on SNL so many years ago).
Any feeback would be great! |
Rockferry is one of my 10 favorite CDs of the year.
She recorded it on a shoestring budget which probably benefited the overall sound. It sounds very '60s authentic. Worldwide, it's one 2008's top-sellers. Mercy was a number one U.K. hit. One Republic has already covered it. Steppin' Stone, Warwick Ave were also singles. There's a double CD special edition featuring all new songs that is also a must have. This remix of Mercy actually maintains the integrity of the composition. Duffy - Mercy (Gareth Wyn Remix) http://www.mediafire.com/?eciumytczoz |

I just ordered that double CD edition today, along with the CD singles. It's already in my top three favorites of this year. The other two titles being, Shelby Lynne's "Just A Little Lovin'", and Plant/Krauss' "Raising Sand". |
Well, I have it. I like a few songs on it like Mercy. I'm sort of not a fan of 60s music, so I'm kind of on the fence about it.

I believe Duffy's album has picked up three Grammy nominations.
That will give me a reason to watch the show this year. Go to youtube or Duffy's official website and watch the video "Warwick Avenue". |
