isn't it midnight!

it's very difficult to pick one favourite song from this album. top favourites: big love, isn't it midnight, family man (though a lot of people hate it, don't know why...ok...WHY?), seven wonders, tango in the night, caroline.

one question. what do you prefer...you and me part I or part II? (i like both, I confess i have "part II" as my alarm, so I wake up listening that song...I think it is a perfect "good morning" tune...). :D

I never really thought Isn't It Midnight was that popular. It's conspicuous that Little Lies is popular, though - just listen to the radio.

I bet none of you would ever guess what I voted for.

Okay, I'll bite. Haven't been here in a while but isn't the title song best? "...I keep the dream in my pocket, never let it fade away, inside and outside, no loneliness in this place....THEN I REMEMBER....when the moon was full and bright and I would take you in the darkness and do the tango in the night...TAAANNGGOOOOO..." I've always wondered if he held that note that long or if it was a recording trick.

I really love IIM but I went with LL because it is a good group effort. All are well represented on the song and I love the harmony Stevie lays on.

GOD I love that lyric. Esp the dream in the pocket part, he is talking about Stevie isn't he? This is by far the beast track on the cd and one of Lindsey's best of all time.

The vocal . . . I don't want to say effects, but the use of the vocal to enhance the lyrics is so striking on TITN. I mean, the "I remember" part is low, a bit husky and then the voice rises to "I would take you in the darkness". By the time you get to the "Tango -o-o-o" part it's a call or a cry. The voice makes the lyrics feel like a memory, that's part pain, part passion. Lust and loss.

Enchanting. Pair that song with the tropical album cover and I really like the sultry result: I can easily visualize the warm, entropic tangos in the night.

I picked Isn't It Midnight...just because I think LL is overplayed so much esp at that time. I think when I saw the Mask tour I got to hear both those songs live....but when Dance came around I don't think either one were played so at least I did get to hear them live than.....:)

I meant among Mac fans. (Though IIM was performed on Kids Inc, i think...). Anyway, I seemed to recall being pleasantly surprised that IIM was high on so many people's Christine lists. Maybe it was just mine and chilid's?

Chrislit18 12-07-2008 02:46 PM

IIM is my favorite Christine Song...if not my favorite Mac song...[between this and BoL and Gypsy...they take up my top 3]....

I wish it would have won against LL, but hell second place isn't that bad.

IIM rocks.

It's funny that all the posts are about IIM, but LL is kicking its butt.
