I voted for You & I partII ....personally Tango is one of my least favorite LPs/cds of Fmac....I think cause its so techno 80's crap....there isn't enough Stevie on it....not because she doesn't have enough songs on it (although she doesn't) but that she really isn't in the others songs either (Lindsey/Christines) other than when they added her onto them. It seems more like a Lindsey/Christine LP/cd than a real FMac lp. I think so many things went wrong with this LP but if you like it thats ok....its one of the least listened too besides Mask too....oh well......I'd say too many songs on this LP are very repetitive....and boring too.....ugh......that's IMO anyway....

Don't get me wrong I like LB & CM but I'm saying as a 'whole' it doesn't seem like a FMac lp....not cohesive enough to me.....it seems more lopsided. Not that I really loved Stevie's stuff during 86 to 87 either.....anyway to each his/her own...no offence really just an opinion....does anyone understand what I'm saying??

I hear you. Stevie obviously did not want to be there for the making of this CD. It is just so blatantly obvious. I really like the rest of the material though. Love Isn't it Midnight and Tango gets my blood pumpin everytime.

One thing that really amazes me is the difference in the sound of Stevie's voice between SW and everything on Rock A Little. Guess the RAL voice was her at the height of her coke/cigg abuse.

I agree with you about her voice totally....when RAL started off early as Mirror, Mirror LP her voice was better (early '84) but than when it became RAL....really its not the greatest...sad but so true.....who knows how great it could've been if the LP was really MM instead of RAL.....guess we'll not ever know now.....& if Jimmy Iovine had stayed on....he still did the best with her songs to me....IMO anyway...

Absolutely... I love Stevie Nicks... i just think that her absence in this album helped McVie and Buckingham really show what they can do without the superstar around..... At that time she was so popular w/ bella wild heart... etc,,, nice to see the other two shine...

And her presence on Rumours and Tusk.. brilliant... (Nicks)..

I wish McVie and Nicks would have collaborated a little more...

Your opinion.. at least by me... respected .. :)

I remember first hearing Rock a Little and being shocked. Her voice had deteriorated quite audibly and the record is so overproduced in parts--by a number of different producers. That said, I held out a lot of hope for Tango. But when I first heard Nicks's work on it I was horrified: a new low. She pulled off a passably poppy performance on Seven Wonders, but I remember being bummed that she didn't write it.

It wasn't until I heard "Blue Denim" that I felt the old Stevie was back--and better than before.

Tango was a weird album for me. In one sense I admired it. Lindsey and Christine wrote some exciting material. It was well produced and relevant to an 80s audience. But there was definitely a spark missing. It seemed as if the primary goal of the recording was to make a big, money-making blockbuster--no less or no more. It is, like so many artifacts 80s, a calculated endeavor. Whereas Rumors was as much a testament to individual expression as it was a follow up to a big hit, Tango seems like a more cynical, forced experiment.

Nicks/Mcvie collaborating more. Absolutly agree. Surely they was some collaborating going on betweeen the 2 that we just don't know about. I picture them at their condos in Sausalito during Rumours late at night with tape recorders working on different concepts.

I totally hear what your saying....hold no ill wills to Christine or Lindsey.....they deserved the spot light just as much as Stevie did. I guess I'm just saying as a cohesive whole its not a total 'band' lp. Unfortunately , with Stevie (& with any star that is...) what goes up must come down. I guess that could be said of Mac too. I guess another thing that bothers me with the Tango LP/cd is that Lindsey didn't tour with this LP. Of course , it was his right to leave. I think it would've been much better if he'd have followed through and tour for it as well. I mean he wrote most of the songs for it (& Christine too). Since Stevie was non-exsistent. I do understand why (that is Lindsey) felt the way he did....but she was part of the band and she should've been part of some of the decisions for it as well. I sometimes wonder if the tables had been turned & it had been Lindsey in rehab...would he have liked others making all the decisions for him or cutting him out of the recordings...the well your not here so you can't say what goes on your song or how its done type of thing. Sorry this isn't a exact quote...I'm only going from memory that is. If someone knows what he really said please let me know. No offence anyone....if you love Tango by all means love it totally. I guess I just think it could've been a more 'band' lp....& well maybe not so 'techno' either......just some thoughts....
Thanks for respecting my opinion...as I do yours & all that have written in this thread & in many others.....
