Britney + Stevie

Hey, I just read a little snippet about Britney's new record and one of the songs is called "lace and leather"......does anyone know if she's put her own spin on Stevie's song "leather and lace"...or is it just a mere coincidence?

Sanne2 11-01-2008 12:53 PM

I saw that too, let's hope it's just a coincedence.....

I hope it is "Leather and Lace" by Stevie cos I likes it when Stevie gets paid! Know wha' I'm sayin'? Mo' cover versions means mo' paper!

I don't feel the world has a need for a Leather and Lace --if it is indeed a cover of Stevie's song. If so, I wonder who would duet with her. Then again, maybe the title was just shamelessly copped...again!

Justin Timberlake!!!
But no really, Lindsay Lohan's cover was bad enough.

I'd be afraid of a wardrobe malfunction. They might choreograph some bit where he rips off one of her shawls and a mistake could happen.

HOORAY!

I mean Brit is all good, I don't mind her [I kindof like Womanizer, and i LOVE her old stuff], but covering a Stevie song....not so much.

I think I have 2 Britney Spears albums. Maybe I have three. I like them. Ashamed to say, but it's true.

Speaking of Britney and Stevie Nicks, this silly article attempts to compare which one is/was sexier. I remember reading it a long time ago, so it was made before Britney was revealed as a bad mother, mental defective, and low-class swamp trash.

I wouldn't be surprised, as Britney has done several cover songs.

Sonny and Cher's The Beat Goes On, The Rolling Stones' Satisfaction, I Love Rock 'n Roll by the Arrows (and later by Joan Jett), and My Prerogative by James Brown.

I'm a bit relieved that it seems to be a different song, as I wouldn't exactly like to hear Brit do a Stevie song (I still haven't heard Lohan's take on Edge). But if it introduced Stevie to today's young audiences, I guess that would be a positive thing. I remember when she appeared in the video for Destiny's Child's Bootylicious. That was pretty cool. :)

I thought it was cool too, but I wonder how much they had to pay Stevie to appear in that video?

Are you kidding me? Considering Stevie got co-writing credit for the song due to the sampling, I'm sure she was more than thrilled to be in the video. She also had her own album out at the exact same time, so I'm sure she was happy with the opportunity to further both of her vested interests.

Well, that's true. I hadn't thought about this before!
