No getting around it: that's a smouldering band! Hot.

Well . . . a smouldering band who hates its fans and forces them to download the only half way decent quality music videos they can find from Youtube.

Celebrating 25 years, Fleetwood Mac released their box set back in the early 90s and the label pasted this montage together as a video to the new Stevie Nicks track.

Has anybody else noticed the following:

1) Stevie Nicks is bloody annoying changing costumes every five seconds
2) Stevie Nicks looks completely lost/pointless when she isn't the lead singer

As much as I love her, I just can't help but notice... ;)

It was noticed decades ago. People used to write letters to Rolling Stone magazine saying things like: "If Stevie Nicks left Fleetwood Mac, we could enjoy a great four-piece band without having to endure a ballet recital."

Well, if you don't play an instrument, it is hard to look interesting when you aren't singing. That is why Stevie started dancing, playing the tambo and putting strings on her mic. It just looks pronounced in the videos because she has to swish her skirt so many times in Big Love.

When they played for Clinton, Lindsey talked about being able to hide behind his guitar. When you have a guitar or piano or drums, it's easy to look useful, even if you are not. I think it might help Stevie to look into an oboe, for video purposes. She could pretend to play it earnestly and that would mitigate the appearance of pointlessness a great deal.

Actually she'd be damn sexy if she played fiddle or something... ;)

I don't know if she's sexy, but Martie McGuire plays the heck out of her instruments. I think they put on an amazing live show. Michele

Kinda how she did in the Sorcerer video - strumming a guitar.

That's a fine video. I only wish FM could have one that cool for an SYW song.

Thank you. What the heck was up with those SYW vids?? Talk about a budget cut... I know they could have come up with something better than filming the rehearsal. Even clips of DR would have been more interesting...you know, "Peacekeeper take your time" and show Stevie storming out of the room and LB following her. It's all in the editing... ;)

John hates making videos, and it's not like their new videos get played on MTV/VH-1.

VH1 played videos far more often in 2003 than they do now- the band would have been well served by a concept video for either Peacekeeper/Say You Will/Thrown Down.

John hating making videos has nothing to do with it, or the logic behind doing it or not. Sorry.

I have a vision for an EPIC RTTG video concept.
