Great timing for Buckingham Nicks

Spring of 2009 would be great timing to release Buckingham Nicks on cd. The band will be touring without promoting a new album They should get it out when the tour begins and have a Buckingham/Nicks set within the set list. This makes total sense to do it then. Lindsey has always brought up the timing has to be right.I don't see Buckingham/Nicks touring without Fleetwood and McVie so this will give them the promotion needed to get some hype around the tour and cd. The album will be 36 years old next year. The end of this year would be even better calling it the 35th anniversay edition. What do you think?

The timing was also right in 1978, 1983, 1993, 1998, 2003, & right NOW!!!

I agree that it should be released, and it's probably best to do it when they are getting the attention anyway from a tour...

I still think the two of them should do some shows together under the banner Buckingham Nicks - I think that would be cool. And they don't have to do alot of them, and not in massive venues, but the smaller ones...

I also think the two of them should record some stuff together just the two of them as Buckingham Nicks with out the other Macsters - and release it with the old remastered album.... Kind of like a then and now... Make it a two cd set.

I thought FM was planning to record again before the next tour? Jeesh trying to keep up with this band is a real challenge.

Why would they tour as BuckinghamNicks when they can basically be the very same thing just with a way better drummer and bass player and have the more popular name.

And yes I agree next spring would be PERFECT timing. That way they could do songs from BuckinghamNicks and have them act as "new" songs even they they'd be the oldedst in the set.

I'm still happy with my several Vinylversions. In some way, I want those to be collector's items till eternity. The warmth of that album will NEVER be the same on CD. Keep it in the closet as far as I'm concerned.

No first tour, then record, then tour again. In lindsey's world that is....

It's a bootleg.

My beloved Chicago Cubs will win the World Series before BN sees an official release date on compact disc.

Great idea but I don't think it'll happen.....It should but don't think so......they should've done something from Buck/Nicks during SYW ...I think they only tried it once....and thats it...how totally sad really.....one time .....what a shame really......:distress:

Technically, "Buckingham Nicks" was a band. If they were going to tour as Buckingham Nicks they'd have to drag all the other band members out with them and other than Waddy, God knows what the other guys have been doing all these years? And really, with Christine gone the current incarnation of Fleetwood Mac is basically a glossy version of Buckingham Nicks. I remember Christine saying that in an interview when she first heard SYW.

I think a great idea would be for them to do a show and Lindsey and Stevie coming out as the opening act doing an acoustic set of songs from Buckingham Nicks. That would be a great promotion for the release of the CD.

Lindsey and Stevie are both at a point where they don't need the money. Lindsey obviously isn't making a big profit on his solo releases. They could release Buckingham Nicks ANY TIME they want. I'm guessing there is something going on we don't know about. My guess is that the masters are lost, belong to someone else...or someone is holding it over Lindsey and Stevie's head.

It's a great album and they know it. There's a political reason...personal reason...whatever that that album hasn't seen the light of day. My guess is that someone believes there's still money to be made on it and they've just been holding it back.
