STYVY NIKS is a cat burgler

I was going to put this in with the Stevie drawings thread, but I thought it might not fit in, since this isn't pictures of Stevie herself. If I was wrong, please move it over there!

I have a 6 year old daughter that we call Mimi, and she's something of a smartypants. Okay, no, that was an understatement. She's hell on wheels. Sigh.

She's a very bright kid, and she is well aware of my demented love for all things Stevie and how important she is to me. She likes Stevie, too, but if you ask her, she'll say, "I like Stevie. But Carrie Underwood is better."

I blame the country music nut she had for a preschool teacher for that one.

Anyway, one afternoon a while ago, she came bounding down the stairs, clutching a piece of paper out of her journal in her hand, and had marker ink all over her hands, arms and face. She shoved the paper at me, so I took it, and asked, "Is this for me?"

"Yep."

I glanced down at it and saw it was covered in squiggles and stars and such. "Wow. It's really pretty. Thank you for drawing it for me," I said.

"Oh, I didn't draw it, Mom. Look at the top."

So I looked back down to inspect it more thoroughly this time and saw this:

(Sorry about the poor image quality there, but the camera was not in the mood to do what I told it to.)

So I said, "Hmm. Do you mean Stevie drew this for me?"

"Uh huh."

"Whoa. That's amazing! How'd that happen?"

"Well, last night while we were all sleeping, she snuck into our house and came upstairs to my room and drew that for you, because she knows where you live and she likes you. And then she told me to give it to you. So I am."

"Wow. Did she draw all over you, too?" I asked, pointing at the ink all over her.

"...maybe," she says.

So now I am torn between wanting to laugh hysterically and wanting to smush her for being so freakin' cute, and she wanders off to watch TV.

About 15 minutes later, she comes back and says, "Hey, Mom. Guess what? Stevie didn't draw that! I did! See, it says so on the paper - 'But its Rily MeMe.' HAHAHA, I TRICKED YOU!" and then runs off again.

I have no idea where she got the idea to tell me STYVY NIKS broke into my house in the middle of the night while I was sleeping, so she could creep up the staircase and draw all over my 1st grader and my 1st grader's journal, but I gotta hand it to her for being that imaginative.

Anyhoodle, I thought you guys might get a kick out of that. Shortly after it happened, I ended up emailing the Nicks Fix with the story, and asked if there was some way to get it to STYVY, in case she might find it amusing. I never heard back (which is not shocking), but it was worth a shot. :blob2:

Cheers,
Zombie

:D

I'm glad you liked it.

She's a weirdo. She likes to write and is big on the creative spelling, so I have a little folder with the best ones in it.

Like the sign she made for her door to keep her brother from coming in, "STAY OWT! KILR ZOMBYS!"

And the small stack of little scraps of paper she was passing me one day, each one saying something like, "I love you mommy!" Except by the time she passed me the 5th or 6th one, it said, "USMC SEMPER FI."

Yeah, I don't know, either.

Kids is crazy.

Don't know if you're kidding or not, but, the motto of the United States Marine Corps is "Semper Fi(delis)", which means "always faithful" in Latin.

Haha, I know what it means. I just don't know where she heard it or what possessed her to write it on a note to me.
