Fleetwood Mac 2009 tour setlist (speculation and spoilers)
Yea I know this isssss waaaaayyy early, being that the tour isn' teven officially announced, but I am so stoked. and just wanted to share what songs I hope are played
ok here goes it. Stevie and Lindsey songs: Crystal Blue Letter Monday Morning I Don't Wanna Know Christine Songs: Everywhere (don't know how they'd pull that off..haha Christine via satellite on the big screen. singing while feeding her ducks and sipping fine english tea...sorry too carried away.) Over my Head Say You Love Me Songbird (only if sung by chris) Sugar Daddy Warm Ways Oh Daddy Temporary One.........to heck with it ALL CHRISTINE MCVIE SONGS!!!!!!!!!!!! |
You really are a dreamer!
|
haha not the first time I've heard that before, haha...the summer leaves too much time for me, haha
|
ok, I won't suggest any list, but even it is too early, I find interesting to analyze your list. here is MHO:
Crystal: not my fave, but could replace Beautiful Child from the last tour Blue Letter: cool Monday Morning: VEEERY COOL, I miss this song, could be a great opening instead of The Chain I Don't Wanna Know. not my fave, but cool Everywhere Over my Head Say You Love Me Songbird (only if sung by chris) Sugar Daddy Warm Ways Oh Daddy Temporary One. None of Christine songs would work without her, except for Don't Stop. Why not Storms, Tango in the night, Walk a thin line ?? |
yea, definitely think this should be brought back in about 10 to 11 months, haha but my last post untill then is this... you are correct!! Walk a thin line would be A-MAZ-ING!!!

I think we need a serious change in the setlist.
Why not start the show with these two songs? 1. Green Manalishi (this songs rocks, and it could be a tribute to Green). 2. Frozen Love (if this is the last tour don't they owe us a B.N. song?). The crowd would go crazy after these songs opened the show. |
Green Manalishi, would be an amazing song to open with.
|
Open with a medley: Station Man -> The Green Manalishi -> The Chain
Also, bring back Oh Well, damnit! Gotta do that on the swansong tour. I like adding Frozen Love, but I'd like it to lead off an encore set. Actually, I'd also love to hear Crying In The Night. That's Stevie's most underrated song ever. IMO, and they won't do it, but the tour would be way better if they left most of the Mini-Mac at home. I'd keep Brett and the girls, maybe even the percussionist. But instead of Neal and Carlos, bring back Billy and Rick, and add Bekka (to do the Christine songs). |
If they are going to do a Chris song I hope it is "Think About Me"
Other than that I would like landslide and big love left out |

I don't care for medleys of songs, kind of cheapens them IMO. But I agree Crying In The Night would be a great pick. But I was just thinking about the first two songs. I don't want Billy, Rick or Bekka anywhere in the arena.....brings back terrible memories of when some band was going around calling themselves Fleetwood Mac. :distress: |
A Fleetwood Mac tour without the following is no Fleetwood Mac tour at all:
1. Dave Grohl on drums & bongos 2. Bookending performances of Beethoven's Rondino for Winds, WoO 25 3. Intermission lecture on tsunamigenic quakes in the Pacific Northwest |

Of course, if we are going to discuss interplate events, we must include a slight discussion about the movement of La Nicks' corset  On topic - I feel La Nicks could do Sugar Daddy justice. |
Think About Me is one of the greatest love songs ever and deserves to be played on a farewell tour.
I think Lindsey can make that song his own, though the optimal choice would be that Chris changed her mind about this one last giant tour :) Well to be far more realistic I would really like to hear Monday Morning or Blue Letter from Lindsey those are fantastic pop songs. |
I wonder what the chances are of them actually changing the setlist up a bit if they do indeed tour? I mean, move The Chain away from the opening for God's sake! I doubt it will happen but it would be great to pay homage to some of the band's pre 1975 albums with some key songs.
In no particular order...nothing earth shattering in this list, but I think it would be a good mix. Green Manalishi Oh Well Hypnotized Monday Morning Blue Letter Rhiannon Crystal I'm So Afraid Dreams Go Your Own Way The Chain I Don't Want to Know Gold Dust Woman The Ledge Sara What Makes You Think You're The One Angel Tusk Sisters of the Moon Hold Me (LB could do this sans Chris if worked right) Big Love (full band, the solo version is getting overdone) Seven Wonders Running Through the Garden Come Steal Your Heart Away Everybody Finds Out Frozen Love Crying in the Night |
