Lyric similarities
I was doing some more research for my site today, and while trying to find a reference to a line from Sara, I came across a song titled Drowning In The Sea Of Love, performed by Joe Simon in 1971. Not only does it have the line from Sara, it also contains a couple lines found in Never Going Back Again.

This find is fascinating, given the two songs that seem to be "inspired" by it, even more ironic considering the "Sara" lawsuit...

It's very easy to come up with a great idea and then realise you subconsciously stole it! I'm not saying this is what happened here, necessarily, but it does happen.

Drowing in the sea of love is a very old expression that has been used countless times and in countless ways. I wouldn't say it is "ripping off" another song though, as those expressions are far too common to have any copyright over.
Same goes for been down one time, been down two times. Songs just re-hash expressions people use. Here's a Walter Egan song that is similiar to you know what: When my time is only Passing me from day to day And I'm feeling lonely About the best thing I can say...
