Killer live version of Bella Donna - Has this video ever surfaced?
 

Some time ago, I acquired an uncut copy of the audio from Stevie's HBO Special. I believe it is ripped directly from the video for the show.

The videos from this show are incredible - - you can see the Gold Dust Woman, Rhiannon, and others on youtube... and Stevie released the Edge of 17 from this show on the Crystal Visions dvd.

One surprise that I came across on the audio was an incredible live version of Bella Donna. I am posting it on here for anyone who has never heard it:

I am just dying to see the video of this performance. I have heard that this video has never surfaced, but I am hoping that's just a rumour, since I have come across so many of the other songs...

I do hope that if someone knows of a video of a live Bella Donna performance they will share!

I also just wanted to share this amazing version of Rhiannon. Every now and then, my "stevie friend" Jake and I get together, and we trade new bootlegs that we have collected. He copied this live 1986 version of Rhiannon for me. It is unlike any other Rhiannon I have heard before - - I call it the "Well She Rises!" version:

And, finally, because I can't resist sharing...
Jake copied the prettiest version (imo) of Rooms on Fire! There is a gorgeous introduction, and Stevie singing "Somewhere, somewhere" it sounds like she is about to break out into "Somewhere Over the Rainbow"

Just an FYI: The SOURCE radio network actually did properly record & broadcast this Fox Wilshire Theatre performance on FM radio back in 1982 or so. That broadcast included some songs that weren't included on the videotape, like BELLA DONNA, ANGEL, & HOW STILL MY LOVE. Radio stations were sent vinyl for broadcasting, & you used to be able to buy yourself your own vinyl set from The Old Hippie, a mail vendor that advertised in Goldmine magazine.
