Rilo Kiley
Duran Duran
Siouxsie
Collective Soul

This week I am going to see Jacob Dylan. The Cure. I just got word about Tina Turner in October (F'in A hell yea!!!!!) Tickets for Billy Idol 7/26...oh yea!!!! BFD 2008 6/7
Might now see Isaak w/ Boz Scaggs. Maybe Motley Crue...really wanna still see Neil Diamond. I am sure Maddie's gonna be out and about before year end.....agh. I LOVE concert season....

finally got to see Roy Wood at Christmas, had to go...he was a real teenage idol of mine, so you know, gotta see them before they disappear and I'm glad I did ( he was great). Not planning on any more this year (oh...unless the Mac and Sheryl decide otherwise!)

 no, not a woodchopper as far as I know! he goes a long way back, to the 60's, was in a group called the Move who had quite a few hits (probably not in the US though), then formed Wizzard ( UK hits in the 1970's...my day) which eventually rolled into ELO (80's) Jeff Lyne and all that......writtens lots of songs and plays/ed alotta instruments, but when I saw him at Xmas, he only had a trusty pale blue Fender and his infamous bagpipes (his singing was still great however and he had a really funny sense of Brummie humour).Really glad I finally got to see him. I'll see if I can spot a pic of him, back in the day...he sure was "colourful"

Duran Duran

I just missed them the other night. I didn't even know they were here. How were they?

Double D's

On a side note, I would never have known the name Roy Wood, but I FUGGIN LOOOVE ELO!!!!

Duran Duran was the best experience EVAH! They all still look amazing, and sound JUST like their recordings. Not in the sense that there could be a chance they are lip-synching, but in the sense that they still got it. Lots of ad-libbing, and changing things around that make me confident they weren't faking it on stage. WHY I had never seen them up until now is beyond me cause I love me some 80's and some DD. I had really wanted to see them on the Astrounaut tour, but was so sick. This made up for it!

I didn't realize the Police were still out & about. I had wanted to see them too, but heard lots of bad things, and there just weren't any cheap nose bleed seats even available.

I'd go see TP as well, but I think he's playing at one of our wineries, and any of the shows at those places are WAY pricey. NOT that TP's not worth it. I'm just thankful I saw him so many times w/ SN. That was another one where I asked myself...wtf took me so long?!

I've seen a few concerts this year - it is good to live somewhere with plenty of concert venues.

I've just seen Duran Duran - very good indeed. Coming up -

REM
Dave Matthews (no relation!)
Jakob Dylan
Tom Petty
Steve Miller (I had to agree to go to this so that my g/f would go see Ms Nicks)
CSN
STEELY DAN
Stevie N
John Mellencamp

the average age of this lot must be 60!:)

Gypsy-Rhiannon 05-15-2008 04:16 PM

I'm hoping to go and see Cher in Vegas in August!

GarboSpeaks! 05-15-2008 05:05 PM

OOOH! Lucky girl Pip. That's gonna be AMAZING! We were thinking of that as well, but wanted to let the newness of it wear off. Maybe that's a bad thing. lol

I'm halfway through my spring lineup of shows.

Started out with Stevie in late April, which was pretty fabulous, especially since I somehow got from my 35th or so row seat to the stage in time for the Edge walk. Being so close to Stevie was pretty awesome!

Matt Nathanson put on another great show, I've seen him six times now and he never fails to disappoint. He's one of those artists that is almost more enjoyable live because of his banter and personality.

Lifehouse was ehhh, boring. It's always a little awkward when the opening act (in this case, Nathanson) puts on a better show than the headliner and that definitely happened at this show.

Hanson was actually one of the best shows I've ever been to! I've been a fan of the band for 11 years but it was my first time seeing them live and let me tell you, those guys are showmen. Two and a half hour set, very energetic, great setlist, nice selection of covers thrown in and just an overall amazing show. I say to anyone who is like "Heh, Mmmbop" to give these guys a chance now that it's been 11 years, but this show got me saying that even more! Plus, I was introduced to an awesome band, Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers, who opened. They are opening for George Thorogood next, which says a little about their versatility!

Still have REM and Billy Joel coming up, and perhaps Chicago/Doobie Brothers and OAR if I decide to get tix to those. So far, so good!
