Mick, Bekka & Billy rarity - the original The Zoo single

This is the original single by The Zoo - an alternative version of Shakin' The Cage, although the arrangement is pretty much identical to the later album version.

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=FSNMGX8T

The line-up on this version is Mick, Billy Thorpe & Bekka plus Kenny Gradney (who appears on one track on the album) and Billy Burnette (who doesn't appear on the album). Also included is the b-side Forgive.

Ripped at 320 Kbs (as required by another site I'm posting it on).

I just got this single after many years of searching for it about a year ago and didn't even realize the STC was a diff version, I'll have to check that out, thanks very much! :)

THANKS FOR THIS!! Anny song containing 3 fleetwood mac members I tend to classify as a FleetwoodMac song. and this one is cool.

No problems, John.

Strangely, the photo on the back cover of the single shows 5 males and no Bekka.

I don't understand how megaupload works? where is the download button?

Thanks for posting, by the way. I can't find any of Shakin' the Cage, The Visitor, I'm Not Me, so I'm sure there are others who appreciate any of Micks' work they can get their hands on.

The download button should be at the top of the page to the right of the Megaupload banner - you need to enter a 3 letter security code and you should be OK.

A link to the Shakin' The Cage album was in another post of mine.

I have a CD of The Visitor made from low-bitrate MP3s posted on here by stevemac a long time ago. I'm grateful he posted them, but it would probably sound a bit ordinary if I re-ripped them back to MP3s.

I've never had (or heard) I'm Not Me.

For Kenny Gradney, read Kenny Gradney from the awesome band Little Feat. Kenny is my favourite bass player (sorry John). And Billy Thorpe - would that be the now deceased Australian performer of Billy Thorpe And The Aztecs fame? If so, I can point out that the original Aztecs guitarist was Vince Melouney who played with the Bee Gees on their early hits. There you are, I've revealed two of my other favourite bands.

The very same Billy Thorpe - more usually known for Children Of The Sun.

If you are interested in some more of Vince's work, go to this site: http://www.midoztouch.com/ and then to the archive under E - I, and the first album in that section by Fanny Adams from 1970, consisting of Vince (Aztecs Mk I), two guys from Aztecs Mk II and one of Austalia's greatest vocalists Doug Parkinson.

Thanks for sharing this single with us. Any chance of sharing the band photo as well?

Can do in a week or two - the wife is going to the UK, which means I can access the PC for a change!

(I'm only on it now because I'm creating a PDF of the paper she is presenting.)

That would be great. Thank you.
