They probably first met in 2001 when he opened for her at the KFOG Concert for Kids benefit in San Francisco.

I just remember John Mayer had a special on mtv one time and he dressed in a bear costume, and went around the parking lot before a concert of his telling people "Im sorry, but the fleetwood mac show was re-scheduled" or something like that:lol:
It was funny, and I remember thinking a fleetwood mac mention!

That's the one. He was touring behind his first album (the one where he looks 15 on the CD cover) and wasn't well known at the time. I think KFOG rebroadcasted 2-3 of his songs on their Live from the Archives show. He was cracking a lot of jokes at the show. Funny guy.
