Rumours II

STEVIE NICKS: Things for Lindsey [Buckingham] and I are never going to be mellow ~ never have been, never will be...[but] there are enough things now that we agree on that it's possible for us to work together again. When people say, 'Gee, great rage leads to great art,' a certain part of that really is true. The tragedy of our relationship makes it very interesting to watch.(1)

LINDSEY BUCKINGHAM: A lot of people wanted us to do Rumours II.(2)

------------

LIVEDAILY.COM: Singer/guitarist Lindsey Buckingham recently told Billboard the group is pondering the idea of touring in the first half of 2009, possibly with new material. Also, Nicks buddy Sheryl Crow has publicly stated that she may join the band, though a surprised Buckingham said nothing is written in stone just yet.(3)

CNN.COM: According to Spinner.com, Nicks had said she wouldn't continue with Fleetwood Mac without keyboardist Christine McVie, who retired from touring in 1998.(4)

--------

SHERYL CROW: I don't want to make any official announcements, but I will say that we definitely have plans for collaborating in the future, and we'll see what happens.(4)

SHERYL CROW: I'd love to do 'The Chain,' I'd love to do 'Second Hand News.'(4)

SHERYL CROW: I think the person I learned the most hands-on from is Stevie Nicks because she allowed me not only to co-write with her but also to produce her, and she's a true artist.(4)

E!ONLINE: The news comes amid burgeoning rumors hit-making supergroup is planning to reunite for a new tour and/or album.(5)

SHERYL CROW: I love people that are not jaded or desensitized and that are still really into what they're doing and into growing as an artist, and that's her. She'd walk out and stand at the microphone, and I swear I was looking at a 20-year-old, because she just exudes this kind of sensual love for music.(5)

-----

LINDSEY BUCKINGHAM: [The group is] looking at the idea of touring sometime in the first half of 2009 [possibly with some new material to play].(6)

LINDSEY BUCKINGHAM: I think we were all a little surprised (Crow) was announcing that to the world with such certainty [laughs]. We have talked about the possibility of bringing another woman into the scene to kind of give Stevie a sort of foil and shake it up a little bit. (Crow) was certainly a name that has come up. We'll have to see.(6)

LINDSEY BUCKINGHAM: I don't think anything is written in stone yet.(6)

LINDSEY BUCKINGHAM: I don't think I want to produce again 'cause it takes so much. Whatever happens we'll all sit in a room and make something work as a group. a little more like we used to, sort of try to open it up and get everyone sharing the activity a little more.(6)

LINDSEY BUCKINGHAM: We are all friends, I would say quite honesty Fleetwood Mac is still a work in progress. There are pieces of baggage probably that still remain that are in the process of being worked through. I mean, we consider ourselves a band that is not broken up, but we don't see each other a lot, so the distance sort of keeps us from working through things at a quicker pace. But no, I think there are a few chapters left to go.(7)

-----

SHERYL CROW: We don't even know -- all that stuff is rumours. We are just in the middle of figuring out if we want to collaborate, and what we're going to be doing, and what that's going to look like.(8)

SHERYL CROW: Oh, my gosh. It would be so much fun. And I'm a huge fan of Fleetwood Mac -- the band and the people, obviously the music. And also I just love Stevie. I grew up really idolizing her, and then when I got to work with her, like, 10 years ago, I think I was stunned by how much of an artist she really is -- a fully-realized artist, not just a songwriter.(8)

-------

STEVIE NICKS: Lindsey knows that I did not have a great time during [2003's] Say You Will [album and tour]... He was not being very nice or friendly to me and at my old age I'm like 'Please! I can't do it.'I have a great, great [solo] band... The only reason for me to do it is for my heart.(7)

STEVIE NICKS: I've always loved being in Fleetwood Mac and I'm never going to be the one to squash it... So if Lindsey Buckingham wants to be the Lindsey Buckingham that he was a long time ago -- and be happy with me and enjoy what I do, and enjoy my celebrity and just appreciate the marvelous gift of being in this elite band -- then I will do it again. I will also walk away so fast that the palm tree tops will fall on his head.(7)

-------

LINDSEYBUCKINGHAM.COM: Lindsey will be the featured guest on the nationally syndicated radio show ROCKLINE on Wed., April 16 at 8:30pm PT / 11:30pm ET. He will be discussing the new DVD "Live At The Bass Performance Hall". Fans are encouraged to call to speak with Lindsey at 1-800-344-ROCK (7625). Interesting consolidated info..
After reading this, I think that anything can happen... but without Christine. Sad.
