Never Believe Bands when they say it's their last tour (Blondie)
Last tour was supposedly their last (I didn't believe it for a sec). From their MySpace bulletin:

You know, it happens everywhere. There was a popular peruvian band that 7 years ago, aprox, they performed their last show. They officialy disbanded, said goodbye to fans, etc.. and then 3 or 4 years later, they just reunited, for no evident reason (like a 10th annivwersary, a tribute to something, etc) but the need to play and work together and earn some money I guess.
Don't know it this is the case of Blondie, too. Cher did a farewell tour, also, but I think she said it was a farewell to long tours, not to specific shows or appereances. Tina Turner said goodbye to tours, also. I think she is actually in semi retirement. And another star who, unfortunately for us, is in complete retirement from statges and her GOODBYE was not fake, is CHRISTINE MCVIE. |

Yeah, Eric Clapton said the same thing in 2003, that he wasn't going to tour again.
Then he then does a few smatterings of one-off shows for a couple of years, then reunites Cream for a few shows in 2005, then sets out on an 18 month world tour in 2006/07. Now he's starting another world tour on May 3rd in Tampa, Florida...that will take him along the east US coast during May, then "across the pond" to Europe from mid June through August. |

Christine first announced her retirement from touring in 1990, and has mostly kept her word on that. I think she wanted Fleetwood Mac, or at least her involvement in Fleetwood Mac, to go out on a high note, which is why she did the 40-date tour in 1997. I was shocked that she even agreed to THAT. |
