Lindsey Solo Material Concert

If Mr. B. were to do a concert of only his solo material...no Mac tunes allowed...what songs would you want performed?

I Want You
I'll Tell You Now
Bang the Drum
I Must Go
Twist of Fate
Shuffle Riff/Steve's Riff (GOS)

and if one Mac tune were to slip in...Empire State

What would you want?

Mary Lee Jones
Johnny Stew
Shadow of the West
Loving Cup
Play In The Rain
Given Thing
Shuffle Riff
DW Suite
Twist Of Fate
Bwana
Shut Us Down
Turn It On
Wrong
Don't Look Down
Shuffle Riff
On The Wrong Side

OOOOoooooh....

I forgot about On The Wrong Side...

Good Choice. And your list looks like a good set list.

Do you think he could pull off D.W. Suite? I suppose he has some machines that could help with the sounds...

I would.nt care if he combined it with completely reworked guiatrpieces, partially acoustic, partially ramblin on the Model 1, like he has to with Play in the rain. He could make that one completely minimalistic as far as I'm concerned.:D

In no order:

Play In The Rain
Loving Cup
Trouble (as he does it now)
I'll Tell You Now
Johnny Stew
Shadow of the West
Under The Skin
Cast Away Dreams
Shut Us Down
Down On Rodeo
Wrong
Countdown
This Is The Time
Street of Dreams
Turn It On or Doing What I Can
On The Wrong Side
Time Bomb Town
Shuffle Riff
Twist of Fate

I'd also like 5 or 6 songs off the new album (3 or 4 if Shuffle Riff and TOF are on it).

I'd like to throw in 'I Want You Back' even though it's not strictly Lindsey solo.

Gerald, I see you want Shuffle Riff so much you've listed it twice!

Time Bomb Town
Don't Look Down
Slow Dancing
Count Down
Trouble
You Do Or You Don't
Wrong
Doing What I Can
Tango in the Night (I'm Cheating Here, but FM is Never Going to Perform it)
Show You How
Wear You Down
Given Thing
Deep Dense
Go Insane

Michele

If you're cheating, then I'm copying off your paper.

Since Michele mentioned Tango in the Night, I started listening to it this morning. (The version was some "alternate/demo/outtake" but it sounds like the Real McCoy to me.)

Anyhow, a while back SortaSavageLike posted ISA as background music to his Stevie of Death video, (which I watched multiple times. If you haven't seen the video, get over to the Stevie forum.)

Today it dawned on me (and yes, I am slow) how much those two guitar solos sound alike. I know people have told me that Mr. B. borrows from himself, but I had never heard it before.

I have recognized the recycling of lyrics but never heard the musical side.

Peestie 03-25-2008 12:54 PM

ChilliD will be keen to add Murrow as having the same guitar solo as those two songs.

Betsy 03-25-2008 12:58 PM

Now to find me a copy of Murrow on this here slow computer...

I would go with some rare plays, some that I doubt he's ever played live:

Gotta Get Away
Twist Of Fate
Red Rover
Shuffle Riff
Play In The Rain (Id love to see how he would do this one)
I Want You
It Was I
Johnny Stew
Dancin' Cross The U.S.A.
Dont Look Down
Turn It On
Try For The Sun
Deep Dense
My Little Demon
A Satisfied Mind

If I saw this, I would die a happy man.
