Got Ripped off On Ebay!

Ok, sorry about the ebay crap lately, but you've got to hear this one. Stay away from a seller named Postersultin. He ripped me off big time.
I won a Stevie poster from him and sent him a payment of 25.00 for it and I get it in the mail yesterday and see that it was a cut out of the BellaDonna album cover! It was neatly trimed and cut and all but if this was a promotional poster used in record stores and stuff it would have been printed back to back like they always are. I knew how big it was when I purchased it but he told me that it was rare and they don't make'em like this anymore blah, blah, blah! Well turns out he's got another one for sale just like it and one of the Wild Heart, and Street Angel but I sent him an email and said that he better refund me my money or let me exchange it for something else, then I saw this cool Tango poster and told him that even though your sticker says 100.00, my price says EXCHANGE for the same price that I paid for the Bella one. I will let you know how it goes, but he doesn't really respond all that much to emails and his buisness has a phone number but doesn't ever answer it. I just wanted to tell all of you to stay away from this guy on ebay. I have delt with a lot of rock n' roll memorabilia guys in the past. I know what is real and what is not. There was this one time, this one guy I didn't know him personally, but he came into our local mall a few times and sold alot of entertainment memorabilia. Well, turns out that he was selling movie ads that you see in magazines like rolling stone and premiere??? He took those out of the magazines laminated them and sold them. He caught me putting the ad up to the light and got pissed, I threw it at him and told him he ripped it out of a magazine. He asked me how I knew and I said because it's so obvious jerk! I kind of caused a scene with his little buisness but I wanted people to know he was a scam artist. So you should always keep your eyes open for people like that. And ask questions about the items that you are purchasing who did they get it from, how long have they had it, why are they selling it, is there anything wrong with it? Just ask questions. I have been dealing with this kind of stuff a long time because I had a very good friend of mine who passed and he sold rock memorabilia and made a fortune. The truth was he didn't sell any 20.00 items he sold thousands and thousands of dollars worth of items. Hell, I blew Bob Dylan's harmonica! Litterally! I was at his house wearing Roger McQuinn's (the byrds) sunglasses and blowing Bob's harmonica! (sounds diry doesn't it LOL!) I was having the time of my life with all the stuff he had. You know how he got his hands on all this stuff? He was in the music buisness throughout the late 60's and early 70's. The pics he showed me, the stories he told, the people he knew personally. And the famous stars that you know today, he knew them when they were just getting started and let me tell you this if you found out how crazy they were and the things they did in front of him, I won't tell you their names but if I did, you probably wouldn't sleep so well at night.:D I miss my friend, he passed away about 7 years ago. I miss having a friend to talk to and going to his beautiful castle of a house and climbing that luxurious stair case and looking out at the big red velvet window. I called it the velvet window because he had these beautiful red velvet curtains in the window from celing to floor. I guess I just miss my friend.
Sorry I am taking up alot of room, but I wanted to let you all know about that freak on ebay, and to not buy anything from him. You will be ripped off.

Do you have a link to the auction for the Tango in the Night poster or the Bella Donna poster you won? I checked eBay for "Postersultin" and got a page saying he was no longer being a registered user.

From the description you've given it sounds like you bought an LP flat. I've got quite a few flats for FM/SN as well as a few other artists I like and they are the size of a normal LP cover and are the artwork from the LP cover. Sometimes there is something printed on the reverse of the flat but a good number of them are plain white on the back. They are on card stock that I wouldn't say isn't as heavy as the stock used for an LP sleeve but it is much heavier than regular poster stock.

Was Street Angel even released on vinyl? If it wasn't and he's selling an LP-sized poster then I'd say it has to be a record flat.

Perhaps someone who is more into the collectible side of things can provide more info here than I can as I just collected things that would strike my fancy in passing rather than going for all I could get my hands on. I was more into the music than the stuff. ;)

What you won was a poster flat, which are basically LP dummy posters, the exact same size of the LP and back in the day record stores would have these stuck all of the walls of the stores. To find a vintage flat without the staple holes in it is very rare. The Bella Donna flat does NOT have anything on the back, by the mid-80's they started making them double sided. The early flats are indeed very hard to find. I have the flats for Bella Donna, Rock A Little and Trouble In Shangri-La.

I checked out the sellers other items. The description for the Street Angel poster does advertise it as a flat. I don't own the Bella Donna flat like Skuncles does, but I do own the Street Angel one. I wrote to the seller to ask what was on the back of his to make sure it wasn't just the cover of the vinyl copy cut out, and he replied that it has "Stevie Nicks" printed on the back, which mine does also. So, based on that, and what Skuncles and Saintbernard have posted it doesn't seem like you were really ripped off. I'm not sure if his original auction listed the item as a flat or just poster, but it doesn't really matter, because unless it claimed to be double sided he didn't misrepresent the item. It always pays to ask questions before you bid on something. You may want to send him an apology for the e-mail you sent him and explain that you didn't realize what you were getting, and perhaps you'll get a refund if you send it back. At this point though, he may just give you negative feedback.

Just an FYI about the flats, Street Angel was never released on vinyl, so any 12" poster for it is an actual flat not the album cover cut out. Same deal with "Trouble In Shangri-La", "The Dance" and "Say You Will".

I think I got posters from him before on ebay...I didn't have any problem with him...isn't he in Texas? It really sounds like you got a LP flat like one person mentioned in this thread. I have most all of Stevie's LP flats (not so much FMacs--harder to find) the BD/WH one's are only one sided...meaning that they only have a photo of the LP cover on one side and the other flat would have the LP logo writing on it like the BD -Stevie's name and LP logo...same with WH...than after that they became double sided...meaning the logo and LPCover back to back....I think that started with RAL through SA...I have flats for TISL and for CV also...Supposedly, Street Angel was released on LP but very, very rare/limited...at least thats what I'd heard before though I've not ever seen one for sale?? Can anyone confirm this??
Sorry you had such a problem....its awful when you've been rip off....I've gotten rip off before too....so I really watch it.....trust your insticts with sellers....:sorry:....take care.....:D
