I'm glad you're fine. How's the rest of the town holding up??

Just minor property damage around here. More serious damage where it hit but from what I hear only 1 person was seriously injured by a falling chimney. It happened just before 1am. Things would have been worse if it had happened during the day

That's bad enough. Thankfully it didn't hit mid-day. I couldn't imagine even feeling an earthquake. I think it's only a matter of time here. You never hear of earthquakes in the midwest, but we're on a major fault line, and I have a feeling when it moves, it will be devistating.

Wow Pip.. Thanks for letting us know about this! Usually, in the mornings John watches BBC news, but he didn't this morning. I just called and told him about this, so he's calling his Parent's now, who are in Newcastle- to be sure they are ok.. Glad to hear you didn't get any damage, and that you are ok.

You know what they say: Earthquakes don't kill people; falling chimneys kill people.
