Singer-songwriter Vanessa Carlton (far left) is reteaming with Stevie Nicks for the PBS live music program Soundstage, EW.com has learned. The show will feature the singers' duet "The One," which appears on Carlton's latest album, Heroes & Thieves, and the two also take a stab at Bonnie Raitt's "Circle Dance." The airdate has yet to be determined.

Carlton has been raising eyebrows of late with a provocative new Marc Klasfeld-directed video for the song "Hands On Me," which was arranged by boyfriend and Third Eye Blind frontman Stephan Jenkins. The clip features Carlton lying in bed, gently touching herself in (mostly) appropriate places on camera, but hinting at some possibly less SFW touching going on outside the frame.

She does Circle Dance really well. If she had recorded a studio version of it awhile back with Bonnie Raitt, they could have gotten some airplay on AC stations. It might have really been a favorite ballad for everybody, like Landslide when the three country girls sang it. I can practically hear it now, being sung at all the weddings & Bar Mitzvahs.

This will make the third or fourth Soundstage Stevie has done or been part of?

I'm pretty sure this is referring to Stevie's Soundstage performance with Vanessa appearing as HER guest.

At first, I thought that too, but don't remember anyone mentioning the fact that Vanessa was at the soundstage taping this past fall. I thought I would remember if someone mentioned it. (but I could be wrong) :shrug:

I only wish Stevie had picked Michelle Branch and not Vanessa Carlton as a protege. Of the crop of singing/playing/songwriting young divas that sprouted around 2001 or so, I find Michelle Branch to be so much more pleasing to the ear. That's just my opinion. Branch also hails from Arizona, as does Stevie. And, she was produced (and was the protege of) John Shanks, to whom Stevie of course has a connection to from TISL.

I wish it was Michelle Branch that was getting the boost from Stevie. She really deserves to be 'up there', she's so good. I love huh!

yes, this is referring to Stevie's Soundstage. Vanessa was there and they sang Circle Dance and The One. to be honest, I loved them both, but I wish Stevie would have done Circle Dance alone cause I love her voice on that song. and it'll be interesting to see The One because Stevie and Vanessa were really into it.

Ah, ok, thank you for clearing that up. Yes, interesting to see how it all turned out. Oh yeah, my memory is coming back to me I think... Is the the show where Stevie and Vanessa were totally goofing off or laughing at each other or something?

i hadn't heard that. does anyone know when stevie's will air?
