Fake movie reviews
I saw that music review thread and a thought came to me. ( I know, hard to believe isnt it?) Occaisonally I read the movie section in the paper and I see that a person has a screaming bold type review for a movie. something like UNBELIEVEABLE!!! MUST SEE!!! Etc. Well, quite a few of these movie reviewers I've never heard of. So I looked one of them up while back, AND THE DUDE DIDNT EVEN EXIST!! DO these movie companies make names up out of thin air and places these people work? How can they get away with that if theyre doing it?

why would someone do this? I do not believe it at all.

I didnt believe it either. But I talked to some other people I know, and they told me too they heard these studios will make up stuff like this. I'm sure they mainly do it for some movie that is a real stinker and they figure most people are too lazy to do research on the reviewer and that they'll go see the movie based on the review. You know how some people are, just reading headlines of a story and formulating an opinion on that subject without reading the rest of the article so I can see how it might be possible. to make myself more clear, what I was referring to in the review sense is when you go to the movie section and there's the page where they show an ad for the film and what theaters it's shoing at and then above the ad they'll have like a 2 sentence review or whatever youd call that with the "persons" name and whatever outlet theyre reporting for.

Don't read fake movie critics, Dave. Read real critics like Stanley Kauffmann.
