Old Rag
'Fess up.
What's the oldest piece of clothing you still wear? Meaning you have worn it at least once within the past year. (Jewelry does not count.) I have a couple of sweaters that I wore in the '80s. (No, not Bill Cosby-style. - You'd never know when they were made.) Back then everything was worn kind of big, so even though I have filled out some, the fit is not ridiculous. How about you? - Jake |

At first I thought you were calling for Strand.
I have a headbanger denim jacket with band patches & pins all over it that I bring down from the attic & wear during drunken parties at my house, does that count? |

I have a pair of blue sweat pants that I stole from a friend in high school and they were huge on us then, but the drawstring kept them up. Now, the drawstring is lost and they fit just fine! |
From 1993, I have a pair of heavy wool pants that I wear every winter. They are in excellent condition, fully lined. I love them.
I also continue to wear what I call "my favorite black shirt" - even though the collar is freyed. I dont care - it's such a soft cotton that I just cant bare to part with it. I've probably had it 8 years or so. :p rbs |

 I think I had that Tshirt. My jacket has a huge Iron Maiden "Can I Play With Madness" patch on it. |
I went to California in 1997. My friend and I took the train from San Jose to SF one morning and when we left we had short sleeves. We spent the day shopping and taking in the sites (it was beautiful). But when the sun started to go down it got COLD fast. I was on the hunt for anything with sleeves. I found this light green sweatshirt (think flashdance) it has a weird neckline and kinda goes off one shoulder. I love that stupid thing and still wear it. In fact I had it on last night. My husband says he wants to burn it but it's so soft and comfy and always makes me think of my time in San Francisco!! ;)

I have this black camisole-like top that I stole from my mother - it has to be over ten years old. It's faded to a gray-ish color, but I love it because it's got thicker straps, not the spaghetti ones that come on most cotton camis now. And it's obscenely low cut, which is great for when I'm singing at blues events full of a bunch of pervy old men, because that almost always guarantees that I get extra time on stage, gig offers, and even tips  I also still have my black Chuck Taylor Allstars that I got in the 5th or 6th grade. They're covered in sharpie graffitti, but I still break 'em out every now and then. I bought a new pair about a year ago, because I needed a "nicer" pair for work and whatnot, but I still love my old beat up Chucks. |
