I enjoyed Ryan's old This Or That thread, but that was only about bands. How about a This Or That for any topic of your choice? I've included a few below. If you have others, please add!

1. Christmas fruitcake:
Unfairly maligned culinary treat or festive holiday crud?

Visionary tripartite masterpiece or corny multiplex bombast?

3. Karl Rove:
Patriot or poopyhead?

I love fruitcake. I do. If it's well made, they are exquisite and rich and are kind of expensive to put together. I like to eat them (the good quality ones, that is) and I also like to bake them. It's actually a very old culinary tradition. So, I'll take "this" for fruitcake.
