I voted for you and your dog...and God Bless you that you are adopting Smiley Jones. The local Humane Society told me that Jack Russells are the ones which are hard to relocate and most end up being put to sleep. So sad....so I applaud you on your opening up and finding room for one more!

That is such a sad story. How people can leave their pets behind is beyond me. God Bless your daughter for rescuing your Jack.
We adopted Shakes from the pound too about 3 years ago. We saw her and she was so pitiful, shivering and scared. There was a label on her cage and it said "TBD". Later we found out that it meant 'to be destroyed'.... She had been there for 10 days so we were just in time. She's gonna be 5 in March and she's amazing. Hopefully her and Smiley will get along. I saw his picture a few weeks ago and Peg immediately wanted him. I was more like:"Well, we can't rescue everybody" but somehow I couldn't get him out of my mind. So Thursday night I looked him up again and decided:"If he's still there, we'll take him". And there he was.... in all his cuteness. Peg called the shelter yesterday and they were closed. We're calling again today and see if we can visit him and start the adopting procedure.
I didn't know that Jacks were hard to place. I don't get it, they're so cute and they've got quite the personality.
