What's so interesting to me about the Gypsy video is the color sequence, which is a beautiful simulation of the old 3-strip Technicolor dye process used in great movies like "The Adventures of Robin Hood," "The Wizard of Oz," "Henry V," "Black Narcissus," "Meet Me in St. Louis," "Good News," "Moon Over Miami," "Singin' in the Rain," "The Garden of Allah" (although maybe that one is 2-strip), & so on, unforgettably! Now somebody on this forum told me awhile back that the director, Mulcahy, did not use a 3-strip dye process but used a modern process to simulate the old. Whichever is true, I do not know (but I wish I did know). All I do know is that the color segments in Gypsy, in terms of the saturation, the palette, &c., are lovely & awesome to me because they capture a bygone technical process so perfectly. (I think the corps de danse didn't rehearse enough, however. They don't lift their long legs in tandem.)

Anyway, what do you think is her or their best video?

I think Talk to Me is Stevie's best solo video. It's clean, no weird cuts or jerky jumps or screwups. Plus the Stevie herself looks great in it, lip-syncs well, & moves the way a rock star should move. She was a star, natch, in those days. Nowadays she's just a sweet lil' old frump, much too pleasant & nice to be a mandarin empress of the stage.
