Spaced
Big Train

There's a heap more but that's all that come to mind at the moment. I base my life around British comedies so there'll be many others but I have a mind blank.

Anyone else a fan of Spaced?

Oh! You made me sit up in my seat. If you know Black Books then you'll know of the Spaced people. It's all an extended family. Spaced was by Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Edgar Wright and all the actors in Black Books, Spaced, Big Train, Shaun of The Dead & Hot Fuzz appear in each others stuff.

I'm not a big fan of the series Black Books (but I do own all 3 seasons on dvd) 'cause I'm a huge fan of Dylan Moran, he's my favourite stand-up but he didn't use his full potential in the show I don't think. Have you seen his standup dvd Monster? It's brilliant. I definitely recommend Spaced though, same era and similar group of people but just much more enjoyable in my opinion.

I really never heard of it so i Googled and found it's a Channel 4 series.
We only get the 2 Beebs on the cable, so i guess unless one of the dutch or belgian networks runs it, there's not much chance i'll get to see it.
Dylan Moran i only know from the Black Books series and he's not just funny, he's also very cuddly

Did you see him in Shaun of the Dead? He's not as cuddly there but in Black Books and his standup he's so adorable he needs to be poked.

Nope. I've never heard of it, so I don't think so. We only get two Belgian channels here, how many Dutch channels do you get? Ned 1, 2 and 3?

As for my favorite comedies:

Friends
Absolutely Fabulous
Sex and the City
The Simpsons

My mind is rather blank right now. I can't think of anything else.

Hey Suzy, if you watch The Young Ones, surely you must have seen Bottom also, right? I like watching those too. And don't forget Men Behaving Badly. :D I love British comedy.

Actually I've managed to get copies of Spaced on dvd down here in Australia. I don't know if they aired it here when it came out but you can get it here so I imagine you can get it in Europe too.

Did you see Grumpy Old Women / Men ? Looooooved it ! (but maybe that's because some of it is just too familiar  )

And did you ever watch That's Life! with Ester Rantzen ? British humor at it's best. It left me rolling on the floor sometimes.

And for the dutch Ledgies : another favorite of mine is "Het Peulengaleis".
